Pia Magalona: "Motherhood has brought me heartbreaks, and there are like hallelujah moments. But I was made for this, for them."

If there's one thing moms can learn from Pia Magalona, that's how not to look losyang despite having eight children.

Aside from making the bright-red Chanel lipstick her trademark, Pia said looking good is an essential part of her daily routine.

"It really pays to be vain, and I don't think it's bad to have a little vanity in you. Putting on makeup doesn't take so much time. Going to a salon once in a while wouldn't hurt."

But the first step in her beauty routine happens the minute she wakes up.

"You wake up extra early, ahead of everyone else.

"Yes, you have to sleep early and wake up early. You are a mom, you have a lot of responsibility...

"I always wake up early, like six a.m., so you have some me time.

"So that whatever errands you may have, you already look good.

"Because you don't go out looking fresh, with woke-up-like-this look."

And that's also Pia's most important beauty advice to her daughters: first thing to do in the morning is fix yourself.

"I had always taught my kids that whenever they go out, first thing to do is take a bath, then get dressed.

"Because I tell them, you'll never know when there's something coming up—it can be an opportunity or their crushes.

"Besides, when you fix yourself up, you are respecting other people.

"And I found out that I actually perform better, when I do feel I look better."

Did she have a fitness routine?

"My exercise is the work, the kids, taking care of them and all.

"Walking, because walking relaxes me, and it doesn't require a lot of effort, I mean, you just have to go out in your village, walk with the trees, I have that luxury.

"But back then, it was not about not letting go because you don't want to become really huge. This is not to shame anybody. But physically, it's hard to get around?"

MAXINE'S WEDDING, MOTHERHOOD, AND DATING. How does it feel to have another daughter tying the knot soon?

Maxine is the third out of four daughters to get married. Does she still feel separation anxiety?

"Actually, in our family, when you are 18, you are out of the house. Usually, that's when you go to college. All my older children went through that.

"Back to Maxine, I just tease her each time she goes abroad. I tell her, 'you guys always leaving me..."

Last question: is she dating?

Pia quickly said, "No, I'm not romantic. It's not a priority.

"I would rather have partners like friends, like creative, and all. I would like being behind the scenes.

"I like being wind beneath people's ways, like that."

In retrospect, Pia thinks that becoming a mom has been her "greatest purpose."

She elaborated, "I went to through heartaches, my life is not all perfect.

"With my kids, it was like 'I hate you now, but you love me forever.'

"If I don't like a situation, I may look strong, but I actually make tiis.

"Motherhood has brought me heartbreaks, and there are like hallelujah moments.

"But I was made for this, for them."

At this point in her life, she has learned to find happiness based on what she has and not on what she doesn't have.

"I'm just really happy, I'm in love with my kids, I'm very proud of my kids," she said, smiling, before leaving the Watson event with one of her talents Lauren Young.
