Intramuros sites waive entrance fees for women on International Women's Day

Intramuros Administration in partnership with Philippine Commission on Women is offering free entrance to Fort Santiago, Casa Manila Museum, and Baluarte de San Diego for women visiting the sites on March 8, 2020.

Bukod sa National Planetarium, maari ring bisitahin ng mga kababaihan ang ilang historical sites sa Intamuros nang libre sa March 8, 2020.

Ito ay bilang pakikiisa ng Intramuros Administration sa worldwide celebration ng International Women's Day sa araw na iyon.

Inanusiyo ito ng Philippine Commission on Women sa Facebook page nito noong February 28, 2020.

Ang mga lugar na puwede nilang pasukin nang libre sa loob ng Intramuros ay ang Fort Santiago, Casa Manila Museum, and Baluarte De San Diego.

FORT SANTIAGO

Ang Fort Santiago ay isa sa mga pinakakilalang tourist destinations sa Metro Manila.

Itinayo ito between 1589 and 1592 bilang headquarters ng mga Espanyol na sumakop sa Pilipinas noong panahon na iyon.

Ang Casa Manila ay isang three-story Spanish-inspired house located in Plaza San Luiz complex in Intramuros.

Dito, makikita mo ang magagarang kagamitan ng isang mag-anak na nagkaroon ng luxurious lifestyle noong Spanish era dito sa Pilipinas.

BALUARTE DE SAN DIEGO

Ang Baluarte de San Diego, ayon sa Heritage Conservation Society, ay dinisenyo at ipinatayo ni Jesuit priest Antonio Sedeno mula 1586 hanggang 1587 bilang proteksiyon ng Maynila laban sa mga kalaban nito noong Spanish era.

Ito ay bukas sa publiko mula 8 a.m. hanggang 5 p.m. araw-araw.

Aside from the site's sprawling garden and ancient walls, makikita rito ang labi ng circular fortress. Nag-umpisang mabuwag ang iconic stone structure nang lumusob ang British Forces in 1762, dahil sa earthquake nuong 1863, at sa kasagsagan ng Battle of Manila noong 1945.
