TJ Monterde and KZ Tandingan initially planned on having their wedding this year, but they had to change their plans because of the coronavirus pandemic.
In an interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) via Zoom on June 24, 2020, the singer said they have not set a new date.
He said, "Sobra po as in delayed talaga siya. Planado na talaga kami this year, and since ito nga COVID, so probably next year na talaga ito, but still uncertain.
"Kasi tayong lahat ngayon, nangangapa tayong lahat, e.
"Lalo kaming dalawa, we’re both from Mindanao and yung flights, mahirap. Yung parents namin, yung families namin, parang mahirap talaga lumipad.
The word "Puhon" means hopefully or in God's time. It is also the title of his latest single with PolyEast Records.
He continued, "Since this happened, move to TBA [to be announced] muna sa ngayon kasi kahit kami ngayon, di rin naming alam."
According to TJ, KZ started planning their wedding a month after they got engaged in December 2019.
"We have been ready ever since talaga. After nung proposal namin, parang a month after, naghanda na talaga kami. I mean, mas siya talaga.
"Si KZ yung planner type of person.
Even their prenup shoot in Japan was KZ's idea.
TJ hopes to hold their "normal wedding" once all the restrictions are lifted.
He said, "We’re planning to have like a real normal wedding when it’s possible. Nasa plano pa rin naman namin yun."
When asked about the most challenging part of wedding planning, TJ answered: guest list.
He remarked, "Kung maari, limited guests which is very hard. For one, Filipinos, and two, sa trabaho na ganito, yun yung pinaka-challenge siguro, yung mamili ng guests."
Meanwhile, TJ said he lets KZ call the shots, and he only has two requests: coffee and plants.
Have they decided on the venue?
He said, "We’re planning na lugar na… Yun yung plano namin."
