Gift-giving during Christmas is a major project of the Dantes family.
In an interview via Zoom held on November 26, 2021, Dingdong Dantes says, "I think for most, we put in a lot of effort when we celebrate Christmas which is the same with us.
"So when we do our Christmas shopping, we put a lot of thought into the gifts we buy and try to get them as early as possible."
CHRISTMAS WISH LIST
Asked about what he wants to receive this Christmas, Dingdong replies anything related to coffee and motorcycle is on his wish list.
He tells the press during his launch as the 12.12 Shopee Ambassador with daughter Zia, "Ako, mahilig kasi ako sa kape sa gusto iba't ibang klaseng mga brewing methods.
"Si Zia, talagang pag gumagawa ako ng kape every morning, talagang kasama ko siya.
"In fact, baka nga alam na niya yung brewing method... Excited ako sa mga bagay na ganun, happy ako sa ganun. That's my own, kumbaga, Christmas wish.
"Of course, bukod sa motorcycle accessories na kakailanganin ko para sa aking motorcycle."
Hearing her dad's Christmas wish list, Zia throws in, "I want to buy for Dada a coffee. He always makes coffee with me and he always drinks it every morning."
How about her gift for her younger brother?
"For Sixto, I will give him a car because he always plays with cars."
For her mom Marian Rivera, Zia's gift idea is quite touching: "I want to buy for mama, a pillow. She always takes care of me and Sixto, so I need to give her a pillow to rest."
CHRISTMAS TRADITIONS
Given the pandemic, Dingdong plans to do his Christmas shopping online, and he has a few tips.
"Siguro, magandang alam niyo yung gusto ninyo. You should have an idea already of what you need.
"And second, research. Paano mo gagawin yung research? Siyempre, you gotta get into the app first and look for options.
"Kasi if you look for an item, marami iyan. Maraming merchants ang puwedeng mag-alok sa iyo.
"And then, kung alam mo na exactly what you need, you can narrow it down by filtering the options."
The Kapuso actor adds, "At siyempre, samahan mo na rin yung may best deal na maiaalok sa iyo. Free shipping? Maraming mga ganun."
But aside from gift-giving, the most important tradition they do every Christmas is celebrating it with their family.
Dingdong ends, "Pagdating naman sa Noche Buena, we always celebrate with all our loved ones just like most Filipinos.
"Kasi talagang Christmas is a special occasion that is best spent with our families."
