Kris Bernal is celebrating her second Valentine's Day with non-showbiz boyfriend Perry Choi.
The 29-year-old Kapuso actress, however, said they would have to reschedule their plans because of her busy work schedule.
"Wala, wala akong, may work ako noon, e," she told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) in an interview last February 7, at the launch of her own makeup brand, SHE Cosmetics, at B.A.D. Late Night Breakfast Bar in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.
"But of course maghahanap din ako ng araw for my loved ones, for my boyfriend."
VALENTINE'S DAY GIFT
PEP.ph also asked Kris what was the grandest or most memorable Valentine's gift she received from Perry.
She answered, "Hindi pa naman kasi kami matagal pero yung grandest siguro, trip to Iceland. Last year lang, February din yun."
The couple spent two weeks in Iceland—from February 4 to 16, 2018—and visited some of its popular tourist destinations including the Glacier Lagoon-Jökulsárlón, which is famous for its floating icebergs, and the Black Sand Beach.
Based on flight comparison websites, the round-trip airfare alone costs at least PHP30,000.
To celebrate Valentine's Day last year, Kris and Perry went on a dinner date at Lava Restaurant in Blue Lagoon.
The Asawa Ko, Karibal Ko star, however, noted that she is not really price-conscious when it comes to gifts.
"Minsan kasi mas gusto ko na pinaghihirapan ko, e. Yung boyfriend ko, hindi rin siya yung type na maluho.
"So mga handwritten letters lang, mga ganun. Ako kasi nata-touch ako sa mga bagay, more than the price or whatever.
"Basta pinaghirapan mo."
Kris said she also loves giving gifts to her loved ones on Valentine's Day to show her appreciation.
"Maregalo ako, very generous ako sa mga tao. Pag Valentine's, hindi lang loved one ko or boyfriend ko.
"Sometimes yung mga gusto ko bigyan ng mga appreciation gift, mga simple lang."
LOVE ADVICE
Members of the press also asked Kris for a timely advice this Valentine's Day.
For a relationship to work, Kris said, "Feel ko parang kailangang matanggap mo talaga siya."
Kris added that couples need to know that there is no such thing as a "perfect partner," so they need to give each other time to improve on themselves.
The Starstruck alumna explained, "Yung parang in a way na pag may ugali siyang di mo gusto, yung tatanggapin mo.
"Hindi ka basta makikipag-break na lang na, 'Ay break na kami agad...' Kasi lahat naman ng tao puwede magbago, e.
"Lahat ng tao may chance to change, so parang if there’s something you don’t like about the person, pagbigyan natin.
"Hindi naman tayo perfect, e, may pangit rin talaga tayong ugali. Alam mo yun?"
