Panic set in, and a lot of people made a dash to the supermarket.

The lines were long, and most carts were filled to the brim.

But a young lady showed compassion, and added grocery items to a stranger's basket.

Facebook user Lane Blackwater witnessed this random act of kindness on Wednesday night, March 10, and posted the inspiring story (with photos), which has so far generated over 500,000 reactions and 200,000 shares at press time.

According to Lane, the "nice young lady" approached a "manong," who, she noticed, had bought a few canned goods and two small bottles of alcohol.

The Facebook user narrated: "Good samaritan in Landmark. [heart emoji]

So Manong left again to get few more items habang si girl ay binulungan ang kasama niya to get more items like colgate and the like...

[emoji]

Eventually, other people in the line decided to contribute.

Lane went on: "In the end, pati yung ibang nasa counter na customer ay nagbigay na rin ng konti-konting items like Spam and etc.

Sana all kagaya ni girl.

"P.S. Kudos pala kay Landmark for limiting purchase of alcohol to 6 per customer."
