Daniella Susana is rising up to the challenge of being an online seller.

While many teenagers have turned to Tiktok and Netflix to keep themselves happy amid the pandemic, the 18-year-old student believes happiness is not just about "binge-watching K-dramas all day."

Instead, Daniella has made her quarantine days productive by reselling the churros of Los Churreros Churreria on Facebook and Instagram.

In a span of one month, her total sales reached PHP90,000.

"I started selling them in the last week of May this year," she said in an e-mail interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) on July 26.

"I read feedbacks about the brand and its products first.

"Then, I sent a message on their Facebook page to inquire.

"I ordered 100 tubs for my first batch.

"My capital was around PHP6,000."

The funds, she said, were from her own savings and "borrowed money from my parents."

She sold "300 to 400 tubs" on her first week and a total of 750 tubs for the entire month.

"The PHP90,000 is actually the total sales. The expenses weren’t subtracted from that yet," she remarked.

This has made Daniella "one of Los Churreros' most successful and top-performing partners."

DANIELLA'S BUSINESS LEARNINGS

In May 2020, Daniella graduated from St. Paul College of Bocaue, where she was a consistent student leader and star pupil.

But just like any person new to the industry, she finds it taxing to manage her own business.

"I realized how hard it is to earn money and how hard it is to operate your own business as a teenager.

"From answering inquiries, marketing, to arranging the logistics, running the business can be hard if you're doing it alone."

Still, Daniella considers all the hard work worthwhile.

The incoming college freshman plans to invest her income in her degree on Financial Economics and Accountancy at the De La Salle University Manila.

"It is important to have an alternate source of income, especially since I am the eldest in our family," she said.

"I also plan to invest my money sa stock market po," she added.

But the income, for Daniella, is just a bonus compared to the life lessons she has gained from her continuing journey as a reseller of Los Churreros.

"With this experience, I get to learn new things that aren’t even visible in the books I read in school.

"It unraveled my hidden skills in marketing, communication, and entrepreneurship," she wrote in her e-mail to PEP.ph.

Daniella regards these skills as stepping stones to becoming a "career woman and CPA (certified public accountant) lawyer" in the future.

"Also, I want to show young people, most especially Gen Zers like me, that we can be more and do more from taking risks and doing something outside our comfort zones.

"Being an online entrepreneur may be hard at times, but I find my self-fulfillment here. I am really enjoying this," she concluded.
