Dapat alam mong i-balance ang time for academics and social life.”

“Life was tough.”

Ito ang nasambit ni Gwyneth Grace Porras, 22 years old ng Cagayan De Oro City nang makakuwentuhan ng PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) last February 27, 2023 via Facebook Messenger.

Pagbabahagi niya, “I am the fourth among five siblings.”

Magsasaka ang kanyang ama, at housewife ang kanyang ina.

“My parents were struggling to send us to a respectable educational institution.”

At ang pang-araw-araw na problemang kanilang kinakaharap, “My father has been diagnosed with hypertension and diabetes for almost 15 years.

“There were a lot of expenses for my father’s medications, and for my other siblings' education.”

“My mom suggested na mag-take ako ng exam sa different universities to see if I’ll pass.

“But I only took the entrance exam sa University of Santo Tomas.

“But, noong nag-take kami ng CSAT sa Xavier University, I received an email na I was part of the Top 25 out of all takers, and granted a president’s scholarship which includes full tuition and PHP10,000 allowance for my books and uniform.”

Aniya, nagkaroon siya ng dilemma.

“Kasi both options are great opportunities.”

Pagtitiyak niya, “Of course, I didn’t regret that I chose Xavier University kasi it’s a top-performing nursing school, and they further enhance values, education, and holistic development to the students.”

“Kailangan kong i-maintain ito in order to ease the burden for my parents.

“I need to maintain a 3.0 QPI every semester, and I am proud to say that I’ve maintained it for four years.”

Sa kabutihang palad, “I was also lucky enough to be part of the dean's list during my academic years, and graduated as one of the Honorable Mention in our batch.”

“Dapat alam mong i-balance ang time mo for academics and social life.”

“Kumain sa labas, mag-hang out, makitsismis with friends or maghanap ng bagong hobby.”

“As cliché as it sounds, BTS taught me to love myself more.

“I will never forget Kim Namjoon’s words that touched my life until now: ‘I am who I am today, with all my faults. Tomorrow I might be a tiny bit wiser, and that's me, too.

“’These faults and mistakes are what I am, making up the brightest stars in the constellation of my life. I have come to love myself for who I was, who I am, and who I hope to become.’

“Dahil dito, mas naging kinder and confident ako sa sarili ko, and become the best version of myself.”

“STUDY SMART, NOT HARD”

“I just prayed for a passing mark, but with God's provision, He showered me more than I deserved.”

“And I was really moved by it.”

“NA-SHOCK TALAGA AKO”

“My sisters were screaming my name, in disbelief that I am one of the top passers.

“I was still sleeping around that time, and nagising ako dahil sa mga sigaw nila.

“I am not here today without their support, love, guidance, and faith in me.

“I also offer this success to all of my friends whom I can lean on during my ups and downs.”

“You pushed me to my limits and I was able to discover things that I was capable of.

“As what Toprank always asks, ‘What is your goal?’

“Siyempre, not just to pass but to top the board exam!”

“And of course, catching up with the BTS contents I missed during my board exam review, he-he!

“But at the same time, I am also processing my requirements to take the National Council Licensure Examination [NCLEX].

"My best moment is yet to come.

“Also, I am enjoying and waiting for each BTS’ members solo albums and releases, and looking forward to their comeback as a group in 2025.”

It is an expression to show support and encouragement and that you are wishing someone good luck.

“Life is a tough journey, and I believe that by having faith in your own capabilities, and with perseverance and hard work, you will surely reach your dreams.

“Don’t be afraid to make mistakes and continue to make a positive outlook in your life.”
