Filipino fashion designer Mak Tumang creates a face mask collection inspired by the iconic lava gown he made for Catriona Gray when she won the Miss Universe 2018 title.
Mak unveiled the mask collection in his Instagram account last Tuesday, June 30, 2020.
In his post, Mak said the masks have three layers-—a neocrepe cover, non-woven filter, and cotton lining—and are "washable, breathable, and water repellent."
They come in three sizes: small (11 inches), medium (12 inches), and large (13 inches).
The Lava Mask Set, four pieces in a foldcote paper bag, is priced at PHP1,500.
The Lava Box Set, four pieces in Mak's signature box, is priced at PHP2,000.
The Lava Luxe Set priced PHP25,000 comes with a fully-beaded face mask.
Buyers of his masks will also have an opportunity to have their photos taken with the iconic lava gown at Mark's atelier in Mexico, Pampanga.
People around the world have expressed their interest in Mark's face masks.
In a separate Instagram post last Wednesday, July 1, Mak thanked everyone for their overwhelming response to his new creation.
He wrote, "We would like to express our gratitude to all of you. We are so overwhelmed by the number of inquiries and massive interest in our Lava masks.
"In line with this, we want to sincerely ask for your patience. We will try to respond to each inquiry as soon as possible.
"Please expect a response within 24-48 hours upon receipt of your message. Thank you for your kind understanding."
