Paliwanag niya sa Zoom virtual meet with entertainment press kasama ang PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) noong June 21, 2021, "There are things I don't eat talaga like kambing.

"Kasi, we had a pet goat before, growing up.

Aniya, "But we have a pet pig, si Hamlet. Hahaha!"

THE GOMEZ FAMILY IN ORMOC

"And now, may gansa, may turkey, may manok, may baboy. Minsan pa may bayawak."

Heto ang isang kuwento ng congresswoman (published as is):

"I woke up that morning to find that 7 out of the 9 eggs Mother Hen was nesting for about three weeks now had finally hatched. The cutest creatures —- little chicks, a pale yellow-beige and very noisy bunch. Richard put them in an incubator to keep them warm, like babies.

"We sat down to lunch and I was just thinking out loud how our home felt so much like a farm now, animals roaming freely, fruits & vegetables growing happily. As if on cue, our dog Alexander furiously barged in through the open kitchen and out the dining area. He was chasing a......bayawak.

"A commotion ensued, with the houseboys trying to rescue the poor, stressed bayawak from Alexander’s onslaught. Bayawak goes up and down a low tree, Alexander waits with steely, laser focus. Things settled at one point, the boys were able to pry them safely apart even as they continued to look at each other suspiciously.

"That seemed like enough excitement for a day, or so I thought, until a delivery came just as lunch ended. It was a pot-bellied pig (a gift from Tita Tessie, because her home has over 40 of them). Baby pig is chubby. Cute. Very noisy, too.

"They are like stars in our home now. Family. Juliana and her friends have since given them names. The bayawak is called Britney. The pig now goes by the name Hamlet. And the Mother Hen is Heather."

LUCY ENJOYS FARM-TO-TABLE FOOD

Lahad pa ni Lucy: "But, yeah, it's been fun. And I think doon ko lang na-appreciate talaga iyong childhood ko kasi iyong nakasanayan ko before was farm to table.

"And then nung nagpunta ako sa Manila, parang naging uso iyong farm to table.

"Then, bumalik ako ng Ormoc, I realized we have been doing farm to table, ever since, for the longest time, ano.

"In fact, two nights ago, mga ten o'clock, tuwang-tuwa siya. We were about to sleep, but he went down to the garden and nag-harvest siya ng isang malaking bowl ng chili peppers."
