Aniya, “But if ever, I’ll serve adobo ‘cause who doesn’t like adobo?

"But it’s going to be probably French approach where I’ll use a sachet d’épices [spice sachet] and chicken stock, so it will be the not oily version.”

FROM TAMAYO’S CATERING TO CHEF TO NBA STARS

Nakalakihan daw ni Chef Chris ang pagluluto at saksi siya sa paglago ng kanilang family business na nagsimula sa simpleng karinderya hanggang sa tanghaling “Caterer of the Stars.”

Sambit niya sa PEP.ph, “I can literally say I grew up in the kitchen ‘cause ever since I was kid.”

“I studied at the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) in Napa Valley,” aniya ukol sa prestihiyosong culinary school sa U.S.A.

“Then when I graduated, I met celebrity Chef Tyler Florence and he loved my attitude and outlook towards food so he sponsored my visa here and brought me here.

“He assigned me to do the locker room catering for the NBA players.”

Si Chef Chris ay nag-aral sa CIA noong 2019, subalit nagtapos siya ng Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management sa University of Sto. Tomas noong 2014.

“The best part for me is that I get to watch the games, and not only that! I get to meet them and cook for them!”

“To be honest I feel really honored because all the comments I receive are really positive, they really love my cooking!”

“Pre-game they usually eat peanut butter and jelly for that sugar rush.”

“[Then] Seared Alaskan Salmon with Lemon Beurre Blanc, Lemon and Herb Roasted Chicken, Roasted Beef Tenderloin with Bordelaise sauce, Roasted Broccolini, Citrus Glazed Sweet Potatoes, Chicken Bolognese Pasta, and assorted fresh fruits (bananas, oranges, strawberries, grapes).”

SECOND-GENERATION FOOD ENTREPRENEUR

Kuwento niya, “I went back to the Philippines to open Sibol Manila and Cafe Intramuros while processing my visa.”

“I’m only staying here up to October next year.”

Sa kanyang interview sa ANCX, ipinagmamalaki niyang ipinahayag: “Wala pa mang basketball player na Pinoy sa NBA, at least there’s a Pinoy chef who cooks for them.”
