Committing to a healthier way of living is better said than done because not only do you have to make time for exercise, you also have to change what you eat.
As Filipinos, we like our dishes to have flavors and spices.
But as siblings Solenn and Erwan Heussaff told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), one of the seven dos of healthy eating is saying no to sauce or seasoning.
So how do feel keep our healthy dishes flavorful?
During the Team Solenn vs Team Erwan #NutriUpYourGame Challenge last January21, at the Glorietta Activity Center in Makati, we approached Erwan to ask about some seasoning alternatives.
The chef/restaurateur revealed, “Add a lot of herbs and spices and not too much salt.”
Erwan’s main rule to eating healthy is keeping all ingredients as natural as possible.
“It’s usually the oil and the salt that’s the sauce.
“Garlic, onions, that’s used to bring a lot of flavor.”
And if there's one thing Erwan wants to emphasize about healthy diet, “I always tell people when you really, really want to work out and lose weight, it’s all about sacrifice.
"So sometimes, it’s sacrificing taste.
"Sometimes, it’s going to taste really bland, so you just have to deal with it.”
Eat healthy, PEPsters!
