Ellen Adarna and Luis Manzano are two of the celebrities taking the lead in the #PlungeToPledge campaign of NESTEA to help clean up local beaches.
This is part of the Refresh the Beach advocacy for cleaning up some of the Philippines' top beaches: Boracay, La Union, and Puerto Galera.
#PlungeToPledge is a voting system that encourages Pinoys to rally for their favorite beaches by taking the iconic NESTEA plunge.
Here's Ellen taking the #PlungeForBoracay:
Meanwhile, Luis pledges to #PlungeForPuertoGalera:
Jasmine Curtis-Smith takes the #PlungeForLaUnion:
You, too, can take a #PlungeToPledge and show your support for your beach of choice.
All you have to do is make a video of yourself stating that you #PlungeForBoracay, #PlungeForLaUnion, or #PlungeForPuertoGalera, and then taking the NESTEA plunge.
Be as creative as possible. Mention your name and nominate your friends and fellow beach lovers. Then, post your video on social media.
Take for example Tommy Esguerra's video, where he takes the #PlungeForLaUnion:
And here's another one by athlete and model Rachel Daquis, who takes the #PlungeForBoracay:
The beach with the highest number of pledges by the end of the voting period wins a beach cleanup package worth P1 million.
It's a win-win for both the beach and its avid patrons. To make sure your plunge gets counted, use the right hashtag and set your accounts to public.
Whether you #PlungeForBoracay with Ellen Adarna, or #PlungeForLaUnion with Jasmine Curtis-Smith and Tommy Esguerra, or #PlungeForPuertoGalera with Luis Manzano, you're already a champ as you take a step in helping save our beloved beaches.
Don't forget to check out the NESTEA booths at select malls and parks where you can take your own #PlungeToPledge.
Watch this video to get the complete instructions. The last day to do your #PlungeToPledge is April 23, so take the plunge now!
