Former Pinoy Big Brother housemate Fumiya Sankai undergoes a lung operation in Japan today, December 11.
The 24-year-old Japanese Kapamilya talent had revealed in a vlog post on Youtube last Tuesday, December 10, that he needed immediate treatment for his lung condition.
He said, "My lungs has butas. Kanina I was talking with doctor and then he said I have a hole. That's why they will cut my lungs then they will remove the butas from my lungs.
"Actually one sad thing kasi the left side also mayroong something that's why mayroong possibility [din] in my left lung.
"That's why [I'm] sad. Bakit my lungs is like that talaga? Pero now I will focus sa operation on the right side."
Fumiya said he had his lungs checked at the hospital earlier that day and immediately found out about his condition. He went straight to a hospital in Hamamatsu, a city in Shizuoka prefecture, to get further treatments.
Toward the end of the video, Fumiya thanked his fans for their concern.
He said, "I will do my best. Laban 'di ba? And thank you so much for commenting.
"I saw your comment and then I got energy from you guys, thank you so much. Maraming salamat po."
He added, "May be after operation, it's gonna be hard again.
"Pero, yeah, I want to show everything... Please supporting me, thank you so much...

Fumiya also revealed that he underwent surgery for a similar condition in 2015.
He said, "Four years ago, I got like a hole sa my lungs. That's why I had operation 'di ba? And then kanina I feel same talaga. Kasi parang it's very difficult to breathe."
In an earlier vlog post last December 6, Fumiya said he experienced difficulty in breathing while he was on his way to a restaurant in Japan.
He recalled, "I was sobrang gutom that's why I went to a restaurant.
"Pero when I was eating the food, it was bad talaga that's why I stopped eating.
"And then I called the hospital but tapos na kasi it's already midnight.
"Now I'm here in the hotel in Shinjuku."
Fumiya's brother Shunya uploaded another video on his channel on December 8 to give updates about his situation. The video shows Fumiya connected to a breathing apparatus with a 20-centimeter tube inside his body.
