Mimiyuuuh said their family's ordeal with COVID-19 happened in early April 2021.

The YouTube vlogger admitted she and her family have been complacent about keeping themselves safe from COVID-19.

Her mom showed symptoms a few days after going on a beach trip in late March. She noticed that her mom had hives on her back and her legs, and also experienced extreme fatigue.

Mimiyuuuh had her mom quarantined immediately in her room since it's the only one that has an en suite toilet and bath. Then, she had her tested for COVID-19.

On April 6, 2021, as they celebrated the birthday of Tatay Amadz, Mimiyuuuh learned that Nanay Bheng's COVID-19 RT-PCR test came back positive.

In the next few days, her mom's health started to deteriorate. Nanay Bheng had been suffering from pneumonia and her oxygen level was at a critical level.

The doctor said Mimiyuuuh's mom had to be admitted to a hospital and suggested St. Lukes Medical Center in Quezon City.

On April 9, Mimiyuuuh and her siblings brought her mom to the said hospital. But before they even left their house, her mom passed out.

Mimiyuuuh recalled, "April 9 po is the worst day ever, opo, in my entire life."

She later added, "Grabe iyong experience kaya umiyak na lang po ako kasi parang akala ko po mawawala na iyong nanay ko sa harapan ko."

Eventually, Mimiyuuuh's mom had to go back to their house since there were no available beds at St. Lukes Medical Center at that time.

Mimiyuuuh was grateful to celebrity dermatologist Aivee Teo, who helped her find a hospital that could take care of her mother.

On April 10, Mimiyuuuh was finally able to bring her mom to the University of Perpetual Help Dalta Medical Center in Las Piñas City. But things got more complicated when Tatay Amadz also tested positive for COVID-19.

Being the breadwinner of the family, Mimiyuuuh also had to take precautions against contracting the virus, so she temporarily stayed at a friend's house.

The good news came on April 19 when Nanay Bheng finally tested negative for COVID-19. On April 22, Mimiyuuuh's father also had a negative COVID-19 test result.

In an exclusive interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) coursed through Lazada via email on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, Mimiyuuuh said her family is slowly recovering from the COVID-19 scare.
