Luis Manzano on to losing extra pounds: "Grabe, grabe how much I gained!"

Luis Manzano is glad that his daily workout and diet have paid off. He says, "Medyo nakikita ko na ang baba ko."

Kahit na busy na ulit si Luis Manzano, hindi nawawala sa daily routine niya ang workout.

Kuwento ni Luis, “Siguro ngayon sa akin, it’s a bit busier kasi, a lot of us naman ay nagba-back to work na. Ako, for example, nakakapag-ABS-CBN na ako ulit.

“Pero siguro, noong kasagsagan ng quarantine, when we were not allowed to leave our houses, para sa akin, I had to put in the workout.

“Kumbaga, kailangan kong gawin yun."

Pero ayon sa Your Face Sounds Familiar host, mas malaking factor daw sa pag-maintain ng weight ang proper diet kesa workout.

Dugtong niya, "...I’ve learned after how many years of working out, you cannot outwork a bad diet. Yun ang natutunan ko.

"Kahit na mag-workout ka every single day, mag-gym ka araw-araw, if you do not eat healthy or control what needs to be controlled, napakabagal ng progress mo or worst case scenario, you won’t even see the progression."

LUIS MANZANO ON WEIGHT GAIN

Kapansinsin-pansin sa mga videos niya sa social media ang paglaki ng katawan niya, lalo na't sanay ang mga tao na makita siyang lean at meron pang abs.

“Well, para sa akin, ito ngang pandemic, either two sides lang iyan. It’s either pumayat ka or medyo lumusog ka nang sobra-sobra. Dalawa lang iyan.

“Sobrang minimal yung tao na who went through the whole pandemic that their weight didn’t changed.

"Pero sa akin, after all that, after all the whole ordeal na we went through, grabe, grabe how much I gained.

“At kahit yung stylist ko, lahat sila, parang Lu [Luis]… parang hindi nila alam kung paano sasabihin sa akin, ‘Lu, medyo kailangan nating magpapayat because it’s not looking too good on TV.'"

Unti-unti nababawasan ang kanyang timbang dahil sa pagbabawas ng kanyang calorie intake.

"...regardless of your diet, whether mag IF [Intermittent Fasting], mag-low carbs ka, the basic premise para sa akin of losing weight is the calorie deficit, regardless the diet that you use, it boils down to calorie deficit.

“So yun ang una kong napapansin, okay, medyo nakikita ko na ang baba ko. Pumapayat na nang konti, and sobrang okay sa akin and, in fact, napapansin ng team ko.”

Kamakailan ay ipinakilala si Luis bilang celebrity endorser ng natural sweetener na Sweet Via.

Kuwento ni Luis, "I always start my day with a black coffee before a workout, yun ang ginagawa ko. Hindi ako nagha-hard sell, but black coffee talaga before a workout and then, I add a Sweet Via to really have a good workout. Yun ang panimula ng araw ko."

Para sa kanyang fitness routine, does he go to a gym?

Sagot ni Luis, “Well, hindi na ‘ko nagdyi-gym masyado kasi, meron akong maliit na gym sa bahay.

"Pero ang nami-miss kong gawin at medyo challenging pang gawin ngayon would be martial arts.

“Siyempre, yung contact. Yung proximity from Muay Thai to jiu jitsu, boxing. Siyempre, kahit isipin mo na safe kayong dalawa, you don’t wanna risk it.”

At saka niya idinugtong, “Para sa akin, I love doing bodyweight workout. Yung medyo gymnastic. Hindi ko kaya unfortunately or nahihirapan ako sa long state cardio or a jogging.”

Sa katunayan, bago nag-online mediacon, nag-100 burpees siya.
