Three years after her feature in Harper's Bazaar US with best-selling author Kevin Kwan, GMA-7 actress Heart Evangelista now graces the pages of Vogue Singapore.
In an Instagram post last November 21, 2021, the 36-year-old Kapuso actress was elated over her Vogue Singapore feature.
In another post, Heart said she talked about her "love affair with fashion and the arts and the importance of mental health awareness."
In her interview, Heart admitted that she was initially in denial about her bouts with depression and anxiety.
She recalled, “I was in denial. I kept questioning the credibility of it all. I am a happy person; a grateful person. I could not understand why I was feeling this way."
When she realized her mental state was already affecting her physical well-being, Heart decided she needed help.
“That’s when I told my husband ‘I think I need to see a doctor’.”
The experience made Heart see that many others need to be helped and has vowed to use her social media platform to raise awareness about mental health.
She said, "It was like a miracle. I was like, 'Oh my god, there are so many who are suffering in silence, because they don’t know why or are embarrassed to seek help.'
"This is something that can be fixed, you just need to take the first step.
“I talk about it whenever I have a bigger platform to express myself.
"And why would I not, when taking control of things like I did can save someone’s life?”
Heart also revealed about being bashed when she first opened up about her anxiety and depression.
The I Left My Heart in Sorsogon actress said, “It used to bother me in the beginning, but not anymore.
"This is my truth, and I will fight with all I have got to get myself back."
Heart was photographed by celebrity lensman BJ Pascual for her Vogue Singapore feature.
She wore clothes from Self-Portrait and was styled by Kat Cruz-Villanueva and her assistant John Karunungan.
Justin Soriano did her makeup and Jeck Aguilar her hair.
