Michelle Madrigal is hoping to win the $250,000 prize at stake for the "Transphormation Challenge," an internet-based weight-loss competition sponsored by the website BodyBuilding.com and supplement brand 1st phorm.
Anyone who joins has eight weeks to lose weight, and gets free custom diet and training plans plus coaching assignments.
The new mom posted on Instagram a photo of her in a two-piece undergarment to show her Day 44 progress.
In her caption, Michelle explained why she decided to post her progress despite her father's health condition—liver and kidney complications.
She wrote, "If you ask me why I still work out despite of him [her daddy] being in the hospital is because I've come to a realization that if we don't take care of our health and body now, it will eventually sneak up on us one day!"
Michelle, who gave birth to her daughter in the Unites States back in October, returned to the Philippines last month to visit her dad who was confined at the Philippine Heart Center.
The actress also revealed some health and fitness realizations while she's back in the country.
Michelle explained in her caption, “Besides wanting to win this challenge, it also motivated me to push myself and do more because of my dad.
“Being expose[d] to all my favorite food here in Manila, I’ve learned that I could actually have ‘self-control’ if you really put your mind to it.
"Discipline plays a very vital role in your fitness journey.”
She continued, “You need people who will support your choices, pull you up, build and help you achieve your goals.”
A few months after giving birth, Michelle started working out to gain back her pre-mommy figure.
A self-confessed fitness enthusiast, Michelle also posted workout videos on Instagram to inspire her followers and document her fitness journey.
She concluded her progress post by saying how excited she is to finish the challenge.
“This is my postpartum journey! Can’t wait to see what this #mombod do in 4 more weeks!!!
“Thank you @1stphorm for this opportunity to #transform my body!!”
Today, March 1, Michelle flew back to the States where she is currently based with her American fiancé Troy Woolfolk and their baby daughter Anika.
