Hashtag CK inspires netizens with his weight loss success story

Hashtags CK recounts the period when he was a chubby kid: "Hirap na hirap na kami bumili ng pantalon para sa 'kin dahil sobrang sikip lahat"


On Saturday, January 19, Hashtags member Charles Kieron surprised his Instagram followers with a post on his eight-year fitness transformation.

The 19-year-old It's Showtime performer-host joined the "How Hard Did Aging Hit You Challenge" on social media and uploaded his pre-showbiz photos on Instagram.

CK's followers could not believe the he was a chubby kid growing up.

In an interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), the Kapamilya teen star said he finds the reaction to his before-and-after photos entertaining.

He said, "Sobrang saya dahil andaming magsasabi na inspiration daw nila ako dahil dun and gulat dahil ang daming ayaw maniwala sa picture ko sabi di daw ako yun and nagpa-lipo daw po ako hahaha!"

CK said he was around 11 to 12 years old when the photos were taken.

He recalled, "First year high school po ako nung time na yun. Sobrang lakas kong kumain, wala ako pakialam if mag-gain ako ng sobrang timbang."

Although he did not mind the weight gain, CK admitted to struggling with it especially when buying clothes.

"Hirap na hirap na kami bumili ng pantalon para sa 'kin dahil sobrang sikip lahat kaya shorts lang suot ko lagi, 11 or 12 years old yata ako nun."

The young star added that he also experienced bullying because of his weight.

He continued, "Never pumasok sa isip ko na magpapayat nung time na yun, and lagi ako nabu-bully sa school dahil sa timbang ko."

It took CK a year of regular cardio workout to finally shed off the excess pounds.

He told PEP.ph, "Nag-lose ako ng timbang dahil every day ako tumatakbo ng five kilometers sa treadmill and every week, nagdadagdag ako ng one [kilometer]."

Aside from exercise, CK practiced moderation when it came to his diet.

"Super diet, no rice, no pork and beef. More on fish and chicken lang and no junk foods.

"Never po ako nag-diet plan iniwasan ko lang po talaga mag-rice and junk foods."
