Luigi Muhlach and his family began a "new adventure" this year.
The chef-restaurateur called it "The Muhlach Bunch builds a house."
Early this year, Luigi and his wife Patty posted a teaser to this upcoming family project on their respective Instagram profiles.
Luigi wrote, "exciting times ahead."
Patty, for her part, recalled her own provincial life in this popular holiday town, which is near Metro Manila.
It was where she spent most of her early years, and this project felt like a homecoming.
On top of that, Luigi and Patty have always wanted their kids—Alejandro, 9; Adriana, 8; Anya, 3; and Ariella, 1—to experience the country life.
"We want a simple life with longer days to enjoy every minute God has blessed us with," the mother of four said in one of her Instagram posts dedicated to the renovation of the Tagaytay house.
But the start of their adventure came at a challenging time.
Patty wrote in a separate Instagram post: "My comeback on January 12, 2020 for the start of our house renovation literally and figuratively started with a BANG!
"There was a succession of lightning strikes in the sky. Then there was ash fall.
"What a way to welcome me back, Tagaytay."
Luigi and Patty were among the individuals who personally helped residents during the ordeal caused by the Taal Volcano eruption.
Their Tagaytay home served as the headquarters of their relief operations.
Two months later, the country faced a global pandemic and a Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine was enforced.
But as soon as the restrictions were lifted, Luigi, Patty, and their kids resumed their project.
Luigi gave his Instagram followers a glimpse of the ongoing renovation.
He captioned his post, published as is: "if your dreams dont scare you, they arent big enough. keep dreaming, keep pushing."
