Bigger is not always better when it comes to building your dream home.

To the Bohol-based firm Zamora Architects, a dream home can be a bahay kubo with functions and features that spell comfort.

It reflects Pinoy culture, too.

Check out this stunning and modern version of the stilt house, and see how the design blends contemporary elements with the classic.

Storage space is hidden in the nooks and crannies of the tiny home, with a ladder replacing traditional stairs to save space.

There's enough room for common dining, kitchen, and living area, which leads to a spacious bathroom, all on the first floor.

Meanwhile, the second floor boasts a minimalist bedroom with a 360-degree view of the outdoors.

In the comments section of the firm's post, one of its architects gave a rough estimate of how much it might cost you for this type of house.

The bare building, the architect said, is valued at PHP18,000 to PHP20,000 per square meter.

If you want the build to come with cabinets, the price increases to PHP25,000 to PHP30,000 per square meter.

"To compute the total cost, you just multiply the cost per square meter to the area of the building which is around 35 square meters," the architect explained.

Hence, if you want this modern bahay kubo complete with cabinetry, prepare at least PHP875,000.

The architect added, "The budget for constructing this house would still vary up until I finish the final details and estimates... Note that these prices may vary from place to place here in the Philippines, and it does not include the professional fees, building permit fees, etc."

Despite some initial criticism, Zamora Architects has attracted thousands to its tiny house design, and while the firm is still finalizing the materials, it looks like it already has many tiny-house lovers lining outside its door.
