Wenn Deramas and his "dream come true" three-story property

For several years, Wenn Deramas and his family had been just renting, moving from one place to another. But in October 2005, he had fulfilled his dream: a three-story Mediterranean-inspired house.

In 2013, Wenn Deramas proudly showed to the YES! team one of his fulfilled dreams before he passed away earlier today, February 29, due to cardiac arrest.

It's his three-story house that stands on the hilly side of an exclusive subdivision in Quezon City.

DISCOVERY. It was in the early 2000s when Direk Wenn first set foot on the exclusive subdivision where his dream house was built.

During that time, he was taping an episode for the ABS-CBN fantasy drama series Wansapanataym.

With his assistant director Ricky Rivero, he walked up to the clubhouse at the top of a hill.

“Wala pang mga bahay,” he recalled.

“Ano pa lang siya, clubhouse.

“Sabi kong ganyan, ‘Dito ako magkakaroon ng bahay.’ Kinleym ko.”

CONSTRUCTION. In 2002, he bought the lot in the subdivision while still renting a house somewhere in Quezon City.

The construction of his house, which has a floor area of 575 square meters, began in 2004 and was completed the following year.

Architect Alex Ho created a warm and inviting space that the film/TV director had loved coming home to.

Direk Wenn said that he gave Alex a free hand in building his Mediterranean classic house.

However, he still had some special requests to his architect.

“Sabi ko lang na ang gusto ko ay malaking banyo, malaking kuwarto, kuwarto ng nanay ko sa baba para hindi na siya akyat-panaog ’tsaka sinehan…

“Humingi din ako ng lanai ’tsaka terrace do’n sa kuwarto ko.”
