Janine Gutierrez moved in to her own home six months before she turned 27.

Six months before Janine Gutierrez turned 27, she was able to make one of her dreams come true.

Ever since she was a child, she would always imagine what her dream room would look like, mainly because she never had one.

Like any lady, the daughter of Lotlot de Leon and Ramon Christopher Gutierrez was more than thrilled to start living independently.

In April 2016, Janine was able to move in to her own condo standing along the tranquil streets of San Juan.

But more than a year after, she discovered that it wasn't as easy as how she pictured it.

In an interview back in February 2017, she admitted to PEP and other reporters, "ang hirap pala."

"I feel like I need to be independent, I always wanted my own place.

"Kasi sa buong buhay ko, never pa akong nagkaroon ng sarili kong kuwarto."

Here's a look at her 92-square-meter abode:

For the interior design, Janine sought help from her "kinakapatid" Theressa Asis.

Her chosen peg: tropics mixed with Scandinavian style which she explained, "Yong simple lang, malinis tignan.

She added, "I've always wanted a beach house."

With her savings and a bank loan, Janine was able to buy the place she first saw when she was about 24 or 25 years old.

She was also very hands-on when it comes to the design and materials.

"Talagang pinag-ipunan ko. Kami ang pumili ng lahat--iyong floor, iyong lights, every thing talaga."

For this reason, the renovation period took quite some time.

Her favorite piece in her kitchen was the pastel blue SMEG refrigerator which she first saw on YES! Magazine.

Actress KC Concepcion also had the same ref but with a different color. Hers was in red.

The eye-catching flamingos and flowers wallpaper came all the way from London.

"'Yong wallpaper, ang tagal naming hinanap. Kasi I really wanted it. Parang we found this, and then, diniliver pa."

Although she originally wanted "something parang big dahon na parang banana leaf," she chose this one since "'di pa uso 'yon."

Janine opted to limit her wardrobe.

She told YES! Magazine, May binasa kasi akong book, 'yong Life-Changing Magic of Tidying [Japanese book by Marie Kondo], about decluttering.

"Sineryoso ko siya.

"Kung anong dinala ko dito, mga gusto ko lang talaga na stuff. Para pag binuksan ko 'yong closet ko, wala nang kalat, mas madali."
