Tom Rodriguez, 31, and Carla Abellana, 33, are just like any couple in their 30s. They know how it feels to be asked, "Kailan ang kasal?"

In an interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and other members of the press at the launch of Ligo Sardines on July 20, Saturday, the couple admitted that they do feel the pressure every time they get asked about their wedding plans, especially now that they are celebrating their fifth year together.

Carla said, "We're not getting any younger. Yung mga ka-age namin or batch namin, they're all settling down, having children and building families already, so super pressure."

Tom has learned to take these questions as compliments.

He explained, "For me, personally, whenever I hear people tell us that we have to do it, kailangan na kailangan na.

"I find it flattering kasi at least they want us to end up together. That's always a flattering thought.

"But I don't let it pressure me because we all have our own time to do it."

Carla and Tom are certain they want to spend the rest of their lives together.

Carla told PEP.ph, "Alam naman na namin, e, we've been in a relationship for several years already.

"We wouldn't want to be with anybody else anymore.

"Why would you go into a relationship kung wala kayong long-term plans or if you don't plan on ending up together?"

She further said, "Malinaw na yun, ever since the beginning pa lang, malinaw na yun that we would love to spend the rest of our lives together."

When asked about their marriage plans, Carla usually diverts the question to Tom.

The Kapuso leading lady said, "Depende kay Tom. Only God knows, hindi ko po alam. Siya magpo-propose, e, so siya nakakaalam.

"Pero napag-uusapan na po namin iyan, napaplano na siya. It's part of the near future."

TOM AND CARLA'S REUNION PROJECT

For now, Tom and Carla are grateful that they get to work with each other on different projects.

Last July 20, Carla joined Tom as the newest endorser of Ligo Sardines.

This is the first time that the couple is endorsing a product together.

Carla said, "It feels great, it feels amazing kasi it's not just any ordinary endorsement.

"It's with Tom. It's our first endorsement together.

"So we are very happy. Sabi namin, we're hoping and praying this isn't the last.

"Sana masundan pa."

Carla and Tom also expressed their gratitude for the overwhelming support that their fans give to any of their projects.

Carla said, "The fans have been really happy. I think this is the happiest they've ever been in a long time.

"They've been waiting for us to be part of the same project again. It's been [a long time]."

Tom added, "2014 was the last full soap we did. I Heart Davao was in 2017 or 2018.

"They've been waiting for something from the two of us."

Tom and Carla teamed up for the prime-time series My Destiny in 2014.

The couple had a reunion series titled I Heart Davao in 2017.
