It's back to work for newlyweds Rodjun Cruz and wife Dianne Medina, who opted to postpone their honeymoon after tying the knot on December 21, 2019, at the Manila Cathedral.
Dianne confirms, “Yes, tuluy-tuloy. Bumalik na ako sa PTV right after, and siya naman, bumalik din sa work.
"Right after the wedding, nag-rest lang kami one day, 'tapos, back to work na agad.
“So many expenses, so I think, we’re gonna save up first before the honeymoon, so back to work muna.
“May nag-gift ng Maldives at saka Paris. Napuno agad iyung January, so tanggap muna ng trabaho. Simple lang naman kaming mag-asawa."
If there's one thing they're proud of, it's their new mansion that they saved up for and built from scratch, and had it completed just in time for their big day.
“Okay naman, thankful and grateful most especially to Lord Jesus Christ for providing everything because provision niya talaga.
“There were times that were really stressful. There were challenges along the way, kulang na lang mag-iyakan kami. Nag-aaway rin kami along the way, which is really inevitable.
“Kunwari work or event or raket, I get everything from it, bayad kaagad. As much as possible, we want it in cash. Kasi ayaw naming parehong malubog sa utang.
“Talagang nag-ipon kami. Hindi lang two years, matagal na talagang plinano ito. Talagang pinag-ipunan.
“Gusto rin ng parents ko. Noong buhay pa ang Mom ko, tradition kasi sa family bago ikasal, binibigyan kami ng parents ng lot, 'tapos bahala na kayo.
“Regalo nila iyun, 'tapos, papatayuan mo na lang. Five kaming magkakapatid, katabi ko iyung kuya ko, iyun din ang ibinigay sa kanya. Bigay rin sa amin iyun kaya nakaya namin.
“Kasi mahirap din talaga," says Dianne, whose mom died in 2011.
The short chat with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) happens at the Prestige party held on January 10, at Okada Manila.
Dianne admits that she's still adjusting to their new life as a couple.
She narrates, “Happy naman since pareho kami ni Rodjun na nag-grow sa journey namin as boyfriend-girlfriend to as engaged couple and as mag-asawa na kami.
“Wala pa namang isang buwan, so far, honeymoon stage pa rin and, hopefully, tuluy-tuloy na ganoon.
“Di naman na-discover, kasi kilala ko na siya nang matagal. We’ve been together for 12 years. Nagulat lang ako, paggising ko nang umaga, walang pagkain.
“Nakalimutan kong mag-grocery. Ako na pala iyun. Doon ako nag-a-adjust. Kasi, sa bahay namin, my dad provides everything.
“'Ahh, ito na pala, ako na pala.'
"Di ako marunong magluto, but I will try to learn. Nagulat lang ako na, ‘Shucks, ito na pala ‘yun.’
“Kailangan naka-ready na pagdating niya."
We asked her how Rodjun is as her hubby and life partner.
She exclaims, “Naku, super bait ni Rodjun! Very generous, very kind. Never siyang nagbago, kung paano kami nagkakilala right from the very start.
“Mabait talaga siya and kilala ninyo rin naman siya na very religious din."
Like most newlyweds, Dianne and Rodjun wish to have kids right away and start their own happy family.
She reveals, “We are trying. Kasi, I am not getting any younger, I'm turning 33. Hopefully, kahit mag-rest, gagawin ko.
“Kasi, iyun naman talaga iyung plan. We really want to build a family already.
“Gusto ko talaga, dalawa lang. Pero si Rodjun, gusto niya, marami. But sinabi ko sa kanya, I want quality life.
“Girl talaga ang wish ko na anak. Wala, tuwang-tuwa lang ako sa mga pamangkin ko, kasi lahat, babae. Sina Franchesca, Cara, iyung mga pamangkin ko."
