Kathryn Bernardo is the latest celebrity to launch her own YouTube channel.
Aptly called "Everyday Kath," the vlog went live on the platform on January 3, 2020.
In just two weeks, it has already reached more than a million subscribers.
For her first vlog entry, Kathryn posted a throwback to her Iceland trip with boyfriend Daniel Padilla in September 2019.
In a recent interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), Kathryn revealed it was Daniel's idea to document their Iceland trip for the vlog.
"Sabi nga namin, never kami naging ganoon ka-open," the Kapamilya talent said.
"Open naman kami sa relationship namin sa public, pero kung paano kami off cam, medyo private kasi kami.
"Shinare namin iyong glimpse kung paano iyong mga kalokohan namin, and happy ako sa response ng tao. Hindi ko alam na ang tagal pala nila hinihintay iyong ganoon."
Kathryn said her vlog would allow fans to get to know her more.
"Pinakita lang namin iyong life namin. Kung paano ako kapag hindi nakaayos, kung paano iyong preparations... more of iyong mga hindi nakikita ng mga tao.
"So, maybe after that o kung ano man, mas makilala nila ako through that vlog."
The YouTube channel was initially meant to be a platform for both Kathryn and Daniel.
However, their respective schedules made it difficult for them to follow through the idea.
Kathryn also realized she didn't want the vlog to become an "obligation" for her or Daniel.
She remarked, "Every time lang may mga special, kapag nasa mood siya, okay kami mag-shoot. Iyon lang, kasi ayoko maging parang trabaho siya sa amin.
"So, kapag gusto niya sumali, puwede. Kapag may gusto siyang concept, ginagawa naman namin.
"Para sa kanya din iyon."
Daniel actually directed the Iceland vlog.
With the successful launch of her YouTube channel, Kathryn thanked fans for their warm welcome.
She said, "Thank you, thank you so much. Na-overwhelm ako actually. Kinikilig ako nung pataas nang pataas iyong mga nagsu-subscribe.
"Bago itong mundo sa akin, so please guide me and mag-enjoy lang. Good vibes.
"Share ko lang kung ano iyong mga talaga nangyayari sa akin, and welcome to my real life. Iyon talaga."
PEP.ph met Kathryn at the 20th anniversary event of Rice in a Box on January 18, 2020 at Conrad Manila.
