When news broke about the new "baby" of Christopher Roxas and Gladys Reyes, the couple was flooded with phone calls and questions.
"Maraming nangamba! Na naman?!" Gladys told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) with a laugh.
Many asked her if she was pregnant again.
“Buti, binasa nilang mabuti.”
The "baby" in question is not Baby Number 5 for the couple, but their new business venture, Sommereux Catering.
The business is targeting the A-B market, as Gladys explained, “We wanted to share with them kung ano sa tingin ni Christopher.
With Christopher as the main chef and Gladys in charge of promotions and marketing, the couple make a good team in handling their businesses—one of which is a restaurant called Estela.
Christopher studied culinary arts, and before that, worked abroad as a cook.
He said, “Ako kasi, mas biased ako sa Mediterranean na pagkain.
The couple also revealed that their dynamic as a couple has Christopher cooking and Gladys eating.
“Hindi naman!” the actress denied, laughing.
Christopher conceded, saying his wife does have one dish that he really loves.
He said, “Meron siyang isang niluluto na paborito ko. Isa lang talaga! Adobong atay at balun-balunan.
Gladys tried to steer the conversation by revealing their household help also cooks, but Christopher continued to tell PEP.ph about his wife's cooking.
He narrated, “Minsan, nagsusubok siya. Dumadaan ako, ang tagal! Ang tagal niyang maghiwa.”
Gladys countered, “Alam ninyo, may reason kaya ayoko, nagsa-suffer ako into comparison.
Iyung ganun.”
Now that they have a catering business, do they have a wish'list of events they would love to cater?
What about celebrities they would want to cook for?
“Siguro ako, tutal mangangarap din lang, si Senator Manny Pacquiao and Jinkee Pacquiao, of course. Nag-meet na kami nang ilang beses, sana this time, kung magkita kami ulit, wala namang imposible, malay mo, sana matikman din nila,” Gladys replied.
For Christopher, he wouldn't mind cooking for anyone, as long as they have an opportunity to showcase their food and brand of service.
The grand launch of Sommereux Catering Business was held on February 20, Thursday, at 38 Valencia Events Place in Quezon City.
