KC Concepcion donates 500 kilos of rice to 100 indigent families

On Thursday, April 2, KC Concepcion fulfilled her pledge of bringing 500 kilos of rice to indigent families.

She coursed her donation through her friends Garlic Garcia and Mikaela Martinez.

On Instagram, she uploaded a video of one of the recipients of her donation, and wrote (published as is): "Nakakaiyak. Nakaka taba din ng puso ang mga ngiti nila. Nahimasmasan sila, kaya nahimasmasan narin ako.

"Thank you @bigbadbawang and @mikaelamartinez for successfully distributing the 500 KILOS of rice I pledged for 100 families in BF.

"We can all make a difference whether we DIY, donate, or make actions toward helping, big or small.

"Sabi nga ni Mayor @vicosotto, 'Let’s just work...

"Walang Pilipinong dapat magutom, lalong lalo na sa mga panahong ito.

"Consistent sana ang food distribution natin sa mga napili nating lugar, hindi lang 1 time, dahil syempre mauubos at mauubos din yan. Tulungan tayo, Pilipinas."

On Wednesday, April 1, KC also provided hearty meals for healthcare workers at the Veterans Memorial Medical Center in Quezon City and the Perpetual Help Medical Center in Las Piñas City

KC uploaded their photos on Instagram, and wrote: "Filipinos have been coming together to help those on the frontline as consistently as we could. It’s so wonderful to see.

"Today, and yesterday, we sent out 400 ready-to-eat chicken & pork adobo in jars for our nurses, doctors, security guards and medical staff on duty.

"Veterans Memorial Medical Center yesterday, Perpetual Help Medical Center, Las Piñas today.

"Thank you @thepantry_ph for the food and @ravbmagpantaymd for personally receiving the delivery. We salute you and are lifting you up with our thoughts and prayers!"

The only child of Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Concepcion, KC is among the celebrities who have been using their own resources, if not raising donations, for health workers and poorer communities whose means of livelihood have been affected by the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).

The country is on its 20th day under ECQ to curb the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the country. It took effect last March 15.
