Tiffany Grace Uy is trending again.
The UP alumna made headlines on Sunday, July 26, 2020, when she graduated as valedictorian with a magna cum laude at the UP Manila College of Medicine.
She was also awarded the Dr. Gregoria T. Alvior Jr. Award for Academic Excellence in Medicine Faculty Gold Medal.
Uy first broke into the news with her record-breaking General Weighted Average (GWA) in 2015.
She finished her undergraduate studies in BS Biology with a GWA of 1.004, the highest grade in the post-war history of University of the Philippines Diliman.
She also graduated valedictorian and summa cum laude.
Uy broke the record of John Gabriel Pelia, a BS Mathematics major who graduated in 2011 with a GWA of 1.016.
But, the honors she received, she said, are not her end goal.
In a June 2015 interview with CNN Philippines, Grace said, “For me, scoring high grades or getting titles isn’t fulfilling at all, because I’m still a powerless individual.”
At the time, she said her dream was to “become a doctor who can cater to Filipino patients.”
Now that she has graduated from medical school, congratulatory messages for Uy are all over social media.
Most of them express hope that she chooses to stay in the country, and serve her kababayan.
Please do not leave Pinas for work abroad!

Alongside congratulatory remarks came humorous tweets and comments.
