Now that they're starting a life together, how has it been with newlyweds KZ Tandingan and TJ Monterde since they tied the knot two months ago.
"I always say this sa masaya ako na I get to wake up every day next to this guy.
"Hindi niya na ako kailangang ihatid gabi-gabi pauwi kasi siya na yung home ko ngayon."
TJ chimed in, "We’re having a great time. Merong adjustments pero very minor naman.
"Most of the time, we’re just chilling dito sa bahay and ganun lang.
"We can’t describe it more, but we’re happy."
PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and other members of the press interviewed KZ and TJ via Zoom on Thursday, November 5.
Both acknowledged that the quarantine period has given them ample opportunity to discover and know more about each other.
TJ said KZ is "very maalaga," but added he had just recently found out about her weird side he never knew before.
He said, "If there’s one siguro specific weird fact, KZ loves to listen to mukbang pampatulog."
KZ corrected TJ, "Listen lang, hindi ko nga pinanapood, e. Pinapakinggan ko lang bago matulog."
Mukbang is a livestream trend that started in South Korea where people do a broadcast of themselves just eating.
KZ then volunteered her new discovery about TJ being a "plantito" to the nth degree.
BUILDING A FAMILY
Now that they have entered another chapter in their lives, the press asked KZ and TJ how being a married couple will affect their careers.
KZ assured she'd stay true to her personal style and musicality even if she already has her own family.
She said, "Parang feeling ko mas magma-mature lang siguro...
"Magma-mature lang nang konti siguro or nang malaki kapag nagkapamilya na
"Bbut it will never change who I am as a person."
Have they imagined themselves as parents?
Laughing, KZ answered, "Uh, we don't want to imagine."
TJ added, "Kung darating yung time na darating, blessing naman yun palagi, e."
KZ said when the time comes, she will teach her children to value their individuality and to chase their own dreams.
"Kung magkaanak man kami in the future, that is something that I want to teach my future children na they can be themselves.
"They don't have to put themselves in a box because ang normal na nanay ay ito yung ginagawa, ang normal na nanay ay ito ang trabaho, ang normal na nanay ay ito ang suot.
"They can be who they want to be, parang ganun."
KZ said she hopes to go on a trip abroad with TJ for their honeymoon once the pandemic is over.
"Yung honeymoon talagang hanggang plano lang talaga ngayon kasi gustuhin man naming mag-travel nga, but siyempre yung risk.
"We’re looking forward to traveling nang kaming dalawa lang kasi hindi pa nangyayari yun so far."
TJ added that they would want to visit their families in their hometowns in Mindanao for the holidays.
The "Puhon" singer grew up in Cagayan de Oro City, while KZ is from Digos CIty, Davao del Sur.
He said, "Hopefully soon pag puwede nang lumipad. Ngayon, we’re considering siguro kung anong available na dito in the next month.
"Kasi hindi naman alam if we’re gonna be able to go to our families back in Mindanao sa December, so ngayon, play by ear muna kung anong puwedeng gawin."
KZ and TJ had an intimate garden wedding ceremony on August 28, 2020, at The Farm in San Benito in Lipa City, Batangas.
But the couple kept their wedding a secret, revealing it only on October 8, when KZ uploaded the music video of her new song with TJ titled "Can't Wait To Say I Do."
Shortly after, the couple released the song "Simula," which was their wedding vow to each other.
