Enchong Dee is launching a new food business soon.
This time, the ABS-CBN actor is venturing into shrimp production induced by technology.
He said it can be an alternative in light of recent typhoons that ravaged many food-producing farms in the country.
He told the press during a virtual media conference for Sun Life, "I would love to fill up that deficient because, again, hindi sustainable iyong farming.
"Iyong aqua culture dito sa Pilipinas ng shrimp, I think iyong opportunity doon is still widely available, so iyon iyong ie-explore, but this time with the usage of technology."
Enchong said he envisions a "facility that will not be affected kung meron naman tayong typhoons or kung ano man. We have that facility that will be able to survive."
According to the actor-entrepreneur, "I don't know if I have that eye or if I have that passion.
"Pero I really believe na hindi ito forever itong situation natin. And food will always be a necessity.
"Lahat ng tao kailangan kumain at lahat ng tao gusto kumain, so iyon iyong finifill up natin na gap.
"Because dito sa Pilipinas, marami pa tayo kakulangan when it comes to produce.
"So sabi ko, I'll put my investment on that kasi pagkain will always be a necessity."
Enchong met the press online on November 23, 2020.
a vision for business
Enchong does not have a business degree, but he has a sensible advice to those who are putting up a business.
"Kailangan siyempre nandoon din iyong knowledge. Kailangan nandoon din iyong hard work.
"Iyong determinasyon mo na palakihin iyong negosyo mo. Maraming bagay, but iyong passion is a good step one."
And, for him, the most important is to have a "clear vision kung ano iyong gusto mo ma-achieve."
Enchong averred, "Kapag klaro kasi sa iyo kung saan gusto mo pumunta, iyong daanan na dadaanan mo, lahat papunta doon.
"So if you have that vision, just follow that."
