Former actress Juliana Palermo, 36, considers her husband Joel Crabtree, 39, as an answered prayer.
Juliana and Joel met on Instagram in June 2019, and after going on dates twice as friends they realized they've fallen in love.
Until she met Joel, Juliana harbored so many questions in her head about her failed relationships.
Juliana told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), "Yun yung drama ng life ko.
"I just chose that 'cause it made sense kasi ang dami ko talagang bakit.
"Bakit umalis nang walang sabi? Bakit di siya lumaban kahit konti? Bakit di maitama ang tadhana?
"Lahat ng sinabi niya sa kanta: Bakit ako iniwan? Bakit umalis nang walang sabi?
"Every lyric to that song talaga, I felt it. Bakit hindi maitama?
"I question like, I'm a good person naman. I take care of my brother. Willing naman ako to move kahit saang bansa.
"Everything, willing naman to do everything. But how come, it wouldn't work? It wouldn't work talaga.
"You know, tayong mga girls, we try so hard to make things work because every girl's dream is to be a wife and have a family, right?
"That's every girl's dream no matter what we say and yet.
"I felt I tried so hard and I always ask, 'Why, Lord? I'm a good person naman, I take care of my brother, bakit hindi?"
All these were answered when she met Joel. He made Juliana believe in love again.
She said, "Ang dami kong questions before, but then walking down there to see him sa tagpuan, you know, I felt like everything was answered.
"Na-realize ko, everything happened for a reason. So ayun, lahat ng tanong ko talaga nasagot.
"Kasi with him, our relationship is incomparable to any other relationship, any other friendship that I ever engaged in.
"It's different. It's not a normal romantic... It's romantic, yes. I love him a lot. But it's just...
"It's very easy—I just keep going back to that—it's very easy to love him and be with him. There's nothing hard about it."
Juliana revealed more to PEP.ph in this exclusive interview with her on August 29, 2021.
SEEING HER FUTURE IN REF MAGNET, BUBBLE GUM
In 2018, Juliana was helping her mom move from California to Indianapolis, Indiana.
According to the former actress, she got an inkling that her Mr. Right was in Indianapolis when she bought an engagement ring-shaped refrigerator magnet.
She recalled, "I don't know. I was really attracted to it. Feeling ko talaga na... when I first landed here, feeling ko talaga andito siya, e.
"Hindi ako naghanap pero feeling ko mami-meet ko siya here.
"We're really from California, me and my mom. That's where I grew up when I was in middle school.
"In 2018, si Mama nag-decide lumipat sa Indianapolis. And then, tinulungan ko siya. I flew to California and nilipat ko siya here.
"She's a senior... she needed the help na mag-impake and unpack and everything.
"Bumili ako ng ref magnet. Yung ref magnet na yun was an engagement ring na ngayon is very ano na, ang dami nang kalawang, andun pa sa Davao."
There were other signs. Out of the blue, she organized a bridal shoot just have feel of what it would be like to wear a bridal gown.
"So nagpa-bridal pictorial ako, 'di ba! Parang tanga! Oo, wala naman akong boyfriend pero ako talaga may pakana nun.
"Sabi ko, 'I really want to wear a wedding gown before I fly to Indianapolis.'"
And then, in May 2019, she received another sign that her future husband was just around the corner when she returned to Indianapolis to visit her sick mom.
She said, "So 2019 was when my mom got sick so I flew here. On my way here, bumili ako ng gum.
"Yung Extra na bubble gum na merong parang... basta meron siyang drawings sa likod, meron siyang story-story. Per pack of gum, they have it.
"Dun sa pack of gum, merong engagement or proposal picture, so tinago ko din yun kasi someday... andito talaga siya.
"I took pictures of it nga, e, sabi ko, 'See, totoo nga. Manifestation talaga is real.'
"Mararamdaman mo, so ayun shinare ko siya sa friends ko. Tinago ko yung packet of gum ng almost three years."
And then came Joel, and all these signs began to make sense to Juliana.
Juliana and Joel have a one-year-old son named Jack. The couple also plans to visit the Philippines in late 2021.
