Billy Crawford is happy to let his wife Coleen Garcia manage their family's household finances.
In an exclusive interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), he was asked if he handles their family's budget. He replied candidly, "Oh my god, no! Ang mga lalaki hindi puwede pagkatiwalaan sa mga pera! No!"
The Lunch Out Loud host revealed that he is an impulsive shopper, and is lucky to have Coleen to keep him in check.
He said, "Mahilig ako sa toys. I’m an impulsive person, kaya pasalamat ako sa Diyos, kuripot ang asawa ko."
KURIPOT FOR A REASON
In the same interview, Billy revealed that Coleen is "kuripot" because she looks out for the welfare of their entire family, especially now that they have a one-year-old son.
He explained, "[Si Coleen] talaga ang, alam mo yung, 'Psst! Huwag mo bilhin iyan. Bakit mo bibilhin iyan? Kailangan natin pang ganito para kay Amari!' [Ako naman], 'Tama ka, love!' Mga ganun, di ba?
"You need that balance in your life, e. And Coleen does that for me. She budgets things very, very well."
The "Bright Lights" singer also proudly noted that his wife isn't really fond of branded things, but still knows how to keep things classy.
Billy told PEP.ph, "Kilala mo naman si Coleen, di ba? Hindi naman siya ma-brand na tao, hindi siya ano, she’s a very simple simple woman. And pero, may class at may taste."
As much as possible, Billy said he and Coleen make sure that they will not fight about money.
The Kapatid host continued, "Ako talaga, simula nung bata pa lang ako, to be honest with you, I think money is evil.
"Money is so evil na gusto ng mga tao na magpatayan dahil sa pera. And the only way to survive is to have money.
"Ayokong pananaw [iyan], hindi ko ina-idol ang pera. Ang Diyos ang iniidolo ko. At darating at darating ang pera, as long as you work hard for it. Yun lang."
NEW BUSINESS
PEP.ph also asked Billy if he's planning to launch a new business soon. Currently, he and Coleen have established their own food business called Casa Crawford.
The former child star, however, is taking his time when it comes to starting up a new business, especially amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
He said, "I do have a few things lined up here and there. Pero medyo mahirap kasi to go into business nowadays dahil it’s pandemic season, di ba?
"So for anything, ang goal talaga namin ngayon is yung security ng family ko. That’s what my goal is."
But Billy does have some projects lined up that his fans can look forward to.
He continued, "I’m trying to find other artists as well to produce. I’m trying to find other artists to write, too, to actually help out. Kaya, abangan niyo na lang. I have a few things up my sleeve."
Aside from Casa Crawford, Billy is also focused on promoting his motorcycle jersey collab with Imprint Customs.
He said, "Ayun, yung clothing line ko for motorcycle jerseys, the Bogus Baby with Imprint Customs, we just started that.
"Nag-start yung production, nag-sell out kami ng first day ng nilabas namin. So yung mga tipong small things pero makakatulong din naman sa pamilya at the end of the day."
