After her failed relationships, Kris Aquino remains positive that in God's time, she will meet "someone to pray with and pray for."

How many more heartbreaks can Kris Aquino take?

Since the time she entered showbiz in the late '80s up to present, Kris's life has been chronicled on national TV.

She shared with her public even the not-so-happy details, such as the breakups.

Let's do a quick rundown: her five-year relationship with Phillip Salvador that did not lead to marriage; her romance that never was with Alvin Patrimonio; her near-elopement with Robin Padilla; her very messy ending with Joey Marquez; her rebound hookup with Mark Lapid.

Add to these, her five-year marriage to James Yap, not to mention the tumultuous legal battles that ensued.

The latest was Herbert Bautista, the "mayor who broke her heart."

With all the failed relationships that she survived, the public most likely shares the sentiments of her mom, the President Corazon Aquino, when she was alive.

In an interview about 12 years ago, Kris revealed, "My mom told me, 'For somebody so intelligent, bakit pagdating sa lalaki, sobrang boba mo?'"

But some of her quotes about love and breakups would show that Kris does learn something from her missteps.

We can, too.

1. To those who are in new relationships, no use of big words yet, please.

"...Inamin niya sa akin din na na-love at first sight siya sa akin.

"At that very moment daw that he caught sight of me, he knew I was the woman he wanted to marry and spend the rest of his life with."

2. In love? do not make hasty generalizations.

"In him, I feel I've found the right man na talaga. Each day that passes by, parang ang feeling ko, everything happening is what I hope it would be."

3. To those who are experiencing threats in their relationships, don't give up too easily.

"It's my decision to stay married; it's my decision to protect this marriage and to protect my family.

"At kung sino man ang magtatangka na wasakin ang pamilya ko sinasabi ko na sa 'yo at this point in my life hindi kita papayagan na mag-succeed..."

—a quote from her The Buzz interview re: this woman trying to get in between her and James, February 18, 2007

4. For the wives who are loyal...

"This is a partnership, this is a marriage. I'm standing by you. Walang ibang taong may karapatang husgahan siya; akin lang ang karapatan na 'yon."

—a quote from her The Buzz interview on James' reported affair with a certain Hope Centeno, February 18, 2007

5. To those who want to stand their ground about marriage, do not compromise your values.

"Everytime there was a family gathering, I felt guilty that my other sisters are legally married and I am not...

"Until he's free to marry me...I don't think a reconciliation is possible seeing each other often because Phillip fetches Joshua to and from home to school."

—an excerpt from a magazine article re: her breakup with Phillip, February 14, 1999

6. To those who are stuck in a stupid kind of love...

"I don't know what he has that I loved him to this extent. I don't know why I became so stupid.

"He would often tell me that no other man would love me. That I should be grateful that he was putting up with me."

—a quote from her TV Patrol interview re: controversy with Joey, October 3, 2003

7. To those who went against their parents' wishes, it's not yet too late to make up for it.

"It's the right time and the right chance ... to redeem myself as a daughter."

8. To people who are in a very, very complicated relationship, get out!

"I'd be a liar if I said I don't love him anymore...

"Ang dami ko nang tiniis in the name of loving Joey.

"You keep saying you're prepared to lose everything, Joey, but you don't have the balls."

—a quote from her TV Patrol interview, September 23, 2003

9. To hopeless relationships...

"Matagal naming sinubukan. James and I really tried to make this work. On my part, with finality, I can say ako ay sumuko na."

—a quote from her The Buzz interview, June 27, 2010

10. To those who have been wronged, learn to forgive and forget.

“There's a lot of regret, that's the truth. Maraming panghihinayang. Nagsisisi ako na noong dapat nagpatawad ako, sana nagpatawad ako. But it is what it is and we have moved on.”

—a quote from Aquino and Abunda Tonight interview, April 8, 2014

11. For the "inayawan," he's not the only guy, you know...

"I realized as much as I want us to be friends, we can’t.

"There were just too many promises that my heart so desperately wanted to believe in.

"And continuing the friendship will continue to make me long for what wasn’t meant to be."

12. To those who can no longer tell what love is...

"...I needed to realize this important life truth: True love doesn’t find you, neither do you find it. You build true love together, and you can’t do that when you’re tired, jaded, or weary.

"Love is built by those who have inspiration, determination, fortitude, trustworthiness, loyalty, courage, childlike faith, openness, enthusiasm, and enchantment with what is, plus all that will be."

14. Lastly, for the single people out there, let this be your mantra.

"Yes in all honesty, I still pray for someone who can be my strength.

"I still pray for someone to talk to at the end of a long day, someone who will listen, and someone who will also teach me new things, challenging my mind, and mirroring my values.

"Someone to pray with and pray for. Someone I can trust with all my fears, someone who accepts my past, and still looks forward to our future.

"And someone who won’t be tired about love, but will accept, nurture, and treasure what we will share."
