What's Maine Mendoza like away from the public eye? She says, "Off-cam me is the complete opposite of Yaya Dub—parang alter ego ko siya."

Did you know that Maine Mendoza's original plan was to become a flight attendant?

This was what she told Cosmopolitan Philippines when asked about her possible career if she didn't pursue her showbiz dream.

"My plan was to apply right away after college," she recalls.

The 22-year-old morena beauty graduated from De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde with a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management majoring in Culinary Arts two years ago.

Asked why she chose the said degree, Maine confessed, "Actually, that was never my passion.

"I chose that course to see if it was, because before college, there was a point na hindi ko alam kung anong gusto kong gawin sa buhay."

Known as a bubbly and goofy gal on cam, the Destined To Be Yours star revealed that her real personality was among the biggest misconceptions about her, and that her Yaya Dub character was just a persona she portrays.

She explained, "Off-cam me is the complete opposite of Yaya Dub—parang alter ego ko siya.

"Yung mga hindi ko ginagawa in real life, sa TV ko nalalabas.

"When I'm alone, quiet ako.

"I have my own world."

On her blog, she even described herself as "The Pessimistic Optimist Bella."

Why?

She wrote, "I'd love to say I'm a 'realist' but I'm definitely more of a pessimist than anything."
