Korean drama fans rejoiced as South Korean superstar Kim Soo Hyun arrived in the Philippines on Wednesday, May 25.
The 29-year-old Korean actor was invited to make a special appearance at Samsung QLED TV's launch early today, May 26, at the Golden Ballroom of Okada Manila in Paranaque City.
PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) was lucky to be invited along with other members of the press. Here are some of the scenes from Kim Soo Hyun's latest visit in the Philippines:
Upon his entry, the attendees of the launch had their focus and cameras pointed at the Korean actor.
TV host Sam Oh (not in photo) asked the Korean star a few questions during his visit and Soo Hyun said this isn't the first time he went to the country.
With the help of a translator, he said, "I came here in the Philippines when I was young to travel and now I've got this opportunity to be here in this event."
Soo Hyun also expressed his gratitude towards the warm welcome he received from his fans.
He told the press, "Since the airport, everyone has been very welcoming, and thank you for your warm support.
"And I hope everyone would spend a great time here."
Soo Hyun is best known for his portrayal of Do Min Joon or Matteo Do, an alien trapped on Earth, in the hit Korean drama series My Love From The Star.
He was paired with Jun Ji Hyun, who played the role of Cheon Seong Yi or Steffi Cheon.
This Monday, May 29, GMA-7 network will start airing the local adaptation of My Love From The Star.
Ultimate Star Jennylyn Mercado was cast as Steffi Cheon, while newbie actor Gil Cuerva will portray the role of Matteo Do.
Aside from My Love From The Star, Soo Hyun also starred in other hit K-dramas including The Producers, Moon Embracing the Sun, and Dream High.
Currently, he's busy promoting his latest film, titled Real in South Korea.
He told the press, "I recently finished my film Real and we've bee going around to promote the movie.
"That's how I've been spending the few days."
Real is scheduled to be released this June 2017.
The movie marks his comeback in the Korean movie scene.
His last movie was Miss Granny which hit the cinemas back in 2014.
Towards the end of his segment, Soo Hyun invited his fans to watch his new movie.
He said, "Thank you so for your love and support... from the Philippines.
"Today with the Samsung QLED TV launch, I hope you'll expect our movie Real, too."
