Sandara Park celebrated the 119th Philippine Independence Day with Filipinos in Seoul, South Korea last June 11.
In the same event dubbed Bayanihan Sa Korea 2017, she was named the Friendship Ambassador to the Philippines.
Having spent her growing-up years in the Philippines, Sandara happily accepted her new title.
Sandara said, “First of all, I would like to express my appreciation to the people from the Philippines and also from the embassy for having me in this honorable event, and for choosing me as the Friendship Ambassador of the Philippines.”
She then switched to Filipino, and addressed the Pinoys present at the event, “At maraming salamat din po sa pagpunta niyo dito kahit ang aga pa!
“Parang first time ko yata makakasama ng ganitong karaming Pinoy sa Korea, sa Han River! Grabe, ang saya!”

“And I love the local dishes like sisig, pinakbet—gusto niyo ba ‘yon?
“And sinigang! Sinigang na hipon is my favorite!”
On June 14, Sandara posted snaps taken during the event, and captioned, “Thank you so much for choosing me as the Friendship Ambassador to the Philippines. This is an honor for me.”
