Khalil Ramos said he considers Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo as his “true friends” in show business.
They have known each other since the first time they worked together in the now-defunct ABS-CBN primetime series, Princess and I (2012).
Khalil was also part of Daniel and Kathryn’s 2014 movie She’s Dating the Gangster, and is currently on the Kapamilya primetime series La Luna Sangre.
“Kung wala sila, loner ako dito sa showbiz. Sila yung una kong mga kaibigan.
“We’ve been through a lot of tough times. I’m just really happy for them. I’m very proud of where they are now.”
Speaking to PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), the 21-year-old singer-actor said he and Daniel share the same love for cars.
“When we reminisce, sabi ko, ‘DJ, naalala mo yung ginagawa natin? Yung mga trip natin nung 2011 to 2012? 'Tapos yung mga kotse natin ganito pa lang.'
"Si Daniel noon, he drove an old [Ford] Expedition. I drove an old [Hyundai] Starex.
“And then now, I drive a BMW, DJ drives a [Chevrolet] Corvette. Mas matindi yung sa kanya.
"Basta ako, ever since gusto ko ng BMW, e.”
Below is a snapshot of Khalil with his dream car, a BMW Series 3 e-90, which costs around three million pesos.
Daniel, on the other hand, was seen with his sleek black sports car during the Star Magic Ball last October 2016.
A netizen was able to take a video of Daniel with his reel and real-life sweetheart Kathryn Bernardo alighting his car at the hotel’s driveway.
Below is a closer look of Daniel's sports car, a Chevrolet Corvette Stingray with an estimated price of 7.5 million pesos or more.
Still reminiscing about his early days in showbiz with Daniel, Khalil continued, "Hitsura namin, si DJ ang payat 'tapos ako, ang taba.
"So, nakakatuwa isipin na there are people like them in my life who I kinda grew up with pagdating dito sa showbiz."
ON HANDLING HIS FINANCES. A second placer in the Kapamilya reality show Pilipinas Got Talent Season 3 (2011), Khalil said he used his earnings for “necessities” and certain investments like buying his own car and providing a house for his family.
“I invested sa family house namin. I invested sa necessities ko, that’s one, shelter, and then transportation.
"I have my own car and my car for my family and car for taping.”
He’s also putting up a business for his mom and his own production house which will focus on digital content.
Khalil credited his parents for looking after his finances since he started in showbiz until he started handling his own money last year.
“Mahirap mag-ipon, pero nabalanse siya ng parents ko.
“At the start, siyempre, boom! Fifteen years old kumikita ng ganito, bili ako ng ganyan, bili ako ng ganun.
“Pero nabalanse ng parents ko.”
