Managing your own household requires that you know certain skills such as cooking, laundry, and grocery shopping.
Otherwise, how will you train the household staff that you hire to help you around the house?
It gets a bit complicated when you have more than one helper. Then you will need some skill in human resource management as petty jealousies and competition can arise.
Take a cue from the experience of Bianca Gonzalez.
When she and her husband JC Intal moved to their own home, Bianca realized that part of managing a household included making sure the people living with them get along well.
"That's something I'm still adjusting to…" the celebrity mom and host told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and SmartParenting.com.ph during a recent brand event.
"If you have more than one, minsan mag-aaway 'yan, may dramahan.
"Apparently, it's a thing na parang you have to manage and talk to them."
Between them, Bianca admitted that JC does a better job of handling the situation.
"Siya, mas magaling, e, you have to intervene talaga, and it's hard.
"Kasi parang you're the employer, technically, but at the same time you have to be tender.
"It's not like in the office that they have deliverables, siyempre, it's a home."
HOUSEHOLD DUTIES. Bianca also shared cooking is one of the things she tries to do herself for her family.
Although she acknowledged, "The kitchen is definitely a weak point for me.
"On your feed, you see this mom cooking up a feast for their family.
"And you're thinking, when does she have the time to cook and plate it pa?
"'Tapos makakapicture pa siya! Parang how do these women find the time?
"Until now, I'm still adjusting because I don't cook.
"I mean, I know how to cook, but hindi ko hilig.
"So, I occasionally cook for my husband kapag may time o nasa mood."
