Jodi Sta. Maria recently made another feat, not as an actress, but as a student.
In an Instagram post last week, the 35-year-old Kapamilya actress shared her photo holding a certificate for making it to the Dean’s List of the university she is currently enrolled in.
Jodi is taking up BS Psychology at the Southville International School and Colleges in Las Piñas City.
In her post, Jodi confessed that juggling school and showbiz has been a “roller coaster ride,” but she's proud of herself for this academic achievement.
“I hope this inspires you to just keep going and never stop learning!
“It's never easy but that makes the journey of learning more beautiful and interesting,” Jodi wrote in the caption.
Blessings come in many forms and today, I got mine in the form of a recognition certificate for being part of the Dean’s List in school. I’m first to admit that it’s been a roller coaster ride juggling my career and school. I’m taping for my upcoming show; there has been a lot of late nights and weekends spent with books. But you know what, it’s possible! I’m proud of myself for pulling through and I hope this inspires you to just keep going and never stop learning! It's never easy but that makes the journey of learning more beautiful and interesting. Tomorrow’s another day but allow me to bask in this achievement which I couldn’t have reached without God’s grace. Thank you! ????????
But what motivated Jodi to pursue her studies when she still has an active showbiz career, and remains a prime artist in her home network at that?
“It really all started with this dream that I never let go of. Siyempre dumating ako sa point ng life ko wherein I decided to pursue that dream,” she explained at the press conference of Sana Dalawa Ang Puso, her upcoming teleserye which also stars Robin Padilla and Richard Yap.
“And then once that I have decided, I really made time for school,” she continued.
She chose not to settle even if her career remains flourishing.
“I know that my work will always be here and siyempre hindi mo rin naman maiaalis yon, hindi ba?
“So it’s really about finding your time to do something that you like and fighting for that time."
Jodi also feels fortunate that her home network, ABS-CBN, supported her ambition and “they allowed me to pursue my dreams.”
Lastly, Jodi wants to set a good example to her son, Thirdy.
“Oo naman, kasi kumbaga, kahit paano, yung anak ko rin talaga ang nagiging inspirasyon ko.
“Siyempre as a mother, I want be able to be his example,” she said.
