Ruffa Gutierrez’s eldest daughter, Lorin, has made her commercial modeling debut as the first celebrity endorser of a cosmetics brand.
The 14-year-old faced the press for the first time last Monday, March 26.
Unusual, too, that her younger sister, Venice, was not with her.
“It’s weird not to be here with her kasi we’re always together,” Lorin told the reporters.
“But I think it’s good, kasi it takes me out of my comfort zone and dapat that happens when I’m younger na.
"So when I’m older, I’m not super mahiyain because I’m super shy.”
Did Venice feel left out?
Lorin was quick to say, “No, Venice is not inggit. She’s super supportive.
“This entire time, tinitext niya ako, like, ‘Oh, how is it? What’s happening? Send me pictures.’
“Kasi she’s really supportive. She wants the best for me also, like how I want the best for her.”
Lorin went to her launch after her shoot at the Sara Black Photography in Makati.
KEEN ON ACTING. Between acting and beauty queen pageantry, Lorin said she is more interested in becoming an actress.
Ruffa was Binibing Pilipinas World 1993, placing second runner-up in the international competition.
Lorin said, “Right now, I’m doing some acting in school and doing productions.
“Honestly, I’m really enjoying it. I’m learning so about acting and it’s really something I find passion in.”
Is there any young actress whom Lorin looks up to?
“Ate Kathryn Bernardo… she’s my idol.
“So galing ng acting, so sweet and kind.
“She’ll send gifts to Tita Sarah [Lahbati] to give to me and Venice.
“She knows we’re fans and it’s so, so nice.”
Lorin would also like to work with her good friend, Andrea Brillantes.
“She’s a really close friend of mine. We’re super close.”
Would Lorin want to act with her mother as well?
The young model was quick to say, “That’s scary because my mom is so good.
“And she’s been doing it for so long, ever since she was my age.
“Hopefully, in the future, when I’m good na.”
The high school student added, “If [acting’s] too time-consuming, I’d rather focus on school.”
Lorin plans to take up Business in college.
