In the 1990s, the Cruz cousins were considered the squad in showbiz.
Sheryl Cruz was among the teen queens, and did an average of three movies from 1990 to 1996, the year she married Norman Bustos in a civil ceremony in Lake Tahoe, Nevada.
Geneva Cruz was a formidable performer on stage. She joined Smokey Mountain in 1989; won The Voice of Asia in Russia in 1992; and produced hits such as "I Like You," "Anak ng Pasig," "Ang Gaan ng Feeling," and "In the Name of Love."
Donna Cruz was then a top prime-time actress of GMA, a box-office movie star, and a successful recording artist. In 1998, she left the limelight to marry Dr. Potenciano "Yong" Larrazabal III.
Sunshine Cruz was in-demand as leading lady, finishing four to five movie projects between 1992 and 1999. She also laid low after marrying Cesar Montano in 2000.
Sheryl and Sunshine, whose dads are brothers, are first cousins. Their dads are the first cousins of Geneva's dad and Donna's mom, who are siblings.
Sunshine's throwback photo, which was taken at "Donna’s 16th birthday celebration," triggered the aforementioned trivia.
Partly hidden were their two non-showbiz cousins Glenda (L) and Aubrey (R).
Fast forward to 2018, all women are now in their 40s, with growing and grown children, and have managed to stay fabulous.
Sheryl is 44; Geneva, 42; Donna, 41, and Sunshine, 40.
The last time they were together in one photo was two years ago, before Geneva moved to the States.
Sheryl missed the despedida party.
