Saab Magalona and Jim Bacarro honor the memory of their late daughter Luna Isabel with a project called Luna Isabel Magalona-Bacarro Memorial Fund.

It is a collaboration with Kythe Foundation, a non-profit, non-stock organization that centers around hospitalized children with cancer and other chronic diseases.

According to the foundation’s official website, their Child Life Program provides “psychosocial support to over 8,000 children with cancer and other chronic illness and their families…”

On May 19, Saab, Jim, and their respective families went to the Quirino Memorial Medical Center, one of Kythe Foundation’s long-time hospital partners, and named one of the hospital’s playrooms after their little angel.

Saab wrote in her Instagram post, “All smiles as we honor our angel the best way we can imagine.

“Together with our family, we started the Luna Isabel Magalona-Bacarro Memorial Fund and we launched our first project with @kythefoundation’s Child Life Program today.

“Kythe’s long-time partner hospital, Quirino Memorial Medical Center, has named their pediatric playroom after Luna and the fund will help pay for the staff and materials to make sure the children get ample play time.

“Volunteer and/or donate in cash or kind (toys! activity books! coloring materials!) by visiting kythe.org [heart emoji]”

With this small gesture, Saab and Jim show that they are coping with Luna's death “one day at a time.”
