Zanjoe Marudo on what he misses the most about his late mom Rossana Acuesta: "Iba yung yung pakiramdam na kahit na hindi kayo masyado nagkikita or busy ako, alam mong nandiyan siya."

At the age of 36, Zanjoe Marudo now lives a life of contentment.

It took him over 12 years in the entertainment industry to get to his true state of happiness and contentment.

"Kuntentong-kuntento na sa lahat ng nangyayari sa buhay," Zanjoe told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) in an exclusive interview after his Main Attraction photo shoot with his Playhouse co-star Angelica Panganiban last September 5.

He added, "Happy ako na may friends and family ako, na alam kong nandiyan sa tabi ko lang na nagmamahal sa akin."

Zanjoe has been in the public eye for over a dozen years and has had his share of headlines—from top-billing movies and TV shows one after another to his well-publicized love life with fellow celebrities.

One thing the long-time Kapamilya talent learned from all the experience is how to keep his public and private life balanced.

"Until sa naging single ako for a long time, dun ko na-realize na meron pala akong isang mundo na yung dati, bago lahat 'to, na kailangan kong balikan.

MOVING FORWARD

Amidst the success and blessings, Zanjoe admitted to missing his mom Rosanna Acuesta.

Last February, the Playhouse actor mourned her untimely death.

In his interview with Tonight With Boy Abunda, Zanjoe said he had a hard time accepting his mom's passing since everything was so sudden.

Nonetheless, Zanjoe shared the biggest lesson he learned from his mother.

"Mommy ko kasi ano, e, giving and thoughtful.

ACTING AND BEYOND

On his craft, one of his biggest realizations was knowing how to let his audience feel the emotions he exudes without giving too much.

This realization, he said, has fueled his passion to continue working in the entertainment business even behind the scenes.

The Star Magic talent expressed his desire to work on a project in which he will not be the leading man.

"Feeling ko naman, in the next two to three years, nag-start na ako.

"Kasi nasimulan ko naman na siya, e. Nakapag-pitch na ako ng isang sitcom dito sa ABS-CBN and na-approve naman siya so parang ayun, puwede naman pala talaga."

But how does he want to be remembered as an actor?
