Dimples Romana is very flexible when it comes to managing her finances.
At the GLAD Feasts event, she told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), "Hindi ako yung parang yung every month, twenty percent for savings, ten percent for self, five percent… hindi."
She will set aside her extra money, and use it when the time is right.
"I usually do my budgets by timing.
"Kasi sa totoong buhay, hindi mo kayang gawin yun. You know why? Our lives are bound by circumstances.
"So, for example, biglang may nagkasakit, yung emergency fund mo kahit gaano kalaki iyan, puwedeng biglang mawala.
"So sa akin, budgeting is really more on timing."
What does she usually spend her money on?
The Kapamilya actress continued, "For example, I have more than enough now, then I will invest in a real estate.
"Or if there's a property, really-good value, you check with your bank how much it would cost you monthly, then you decide. Parang every month, instead na hindi mo namamalayan saan napupunta yung money mo, nakikita mo na bahay o lupa siya.
"Actually, it is something you look forward to. It motivates me."
The downside of a real-estate investment, however, is "matagal siyang bumalik sa iyo."
She further explained, "Unless ibenta mo kaagad or ipa-rent mo. Pero wala kang talo especially if the property doubles its value in a few years time.
"For me, for a real estate to work, you have to wait a couple of years before you let it go..."
"No. Steady lang muna. Babayaran ko muna lahat ng binabayaran ko."
Her ultimate "target" is to "pay off all my debts."
If she will have unforeseen bonuses such as "biglaang endorsement or mga events," she plans to pay her bank loans.
"We would take banks all the time because it’s good, it’s safe, many years, and it’s a privilege, but iba yung feeling pag natapos mo nang maaga, and then you look for the next property."
