Frankie Pangilinan, the daughter of Sharon Cuneta and Senator Kiko Pangilinan, has turned 19.
On December 16, Frankie's birthday, Sharon dedicated two Instagram posts to her second daughter.
The Megastar was emotional in her birthday letter, which looked back at Frankie's early years and how her presence changed Sharon's life for the better.
The ABS-CBN performer compared her pregnancy with Frankie to her first pregnancy with KC Concepcion, her daughter with ex-husband Gabby Concepcion.
In between the two pregnancies, Sharon miscarried twice. This made Frankie's birth much more meaningful as she prayed fervently for this pregnancy to be safe and successful.
Published as is, Sharon's first Instagram post for Frankie read: "I first became a mother at 19. On April 7, 1985, at 10:20AM, a beautiful baby girl came into my life and changed everything!
"Today, another beautiful and special girl, my second daughter, turned 19 at 4:41AM.
"I had the easiest pregnancy with KC. With my Kakie, I had to go through a whole lot of hardship and pain throughout most of the 9 months that she was in my tummy.
"My OB-GYN, Dr. Greg Pastorfide, worked with my first Reproductive Immunologist - then the only one in Asia - Dr. Ed Lim - to make sure I would carry my baby to full-term.
"I had lost two babies in a span of only five months between KC and Kakie, and so I can't say I wasn't nervous about the possibility of losing Kakie every single day until she came out.
"Daily injections, twice a day, and an I.V. bottle of - I really don't remember what - every two weeks, and not much activity except for my live Sunday TV show.
"When I delivered her, again, my life changed."
According to Sharon, Frankie—or Kakie, as she is called by family and close friends—was "the happiest, easiest to handle baby. Just like KC."
The celebrity mom continued in her first post: "Parang walang bata sa bahay except for the joy she brought us all and the lingering smells of baby powder and milk all over our home - because she rarely ever cried!
"We'd give her a bottle and she'd put herself to sleep, playing with her feet in her crib with gentle lullabies playing in the background.
"Kakie was like a little 'Manang' when she was small. Already advanced and super smart for her age, she would talk and ask questions constantly, often break into song, and just all around bring us never-ending happiness.
"This girl knew nothing but love - which she received and gave back to anyone and everyone.
"Friendly and charming, happy and content, and was even called a little 'fashionista' by a magazine."
As Sharon pointed out in her letter, this was Frankie's first birthday away from the family.
Frankie is currently attending college in New York City, but she is returning to Manila for Christmas break.
The Megastar continued in her second post: "Today is the first birthday she is 'celebrating' without any of us in the family. She's still 18 in New York! And she told me that she is moving her birthday this year to the 19th because by then she'll be home with us for Christmas break and wants to 'turn 19' with all of us around her.
"Kakie has been one of my biggest sources of pride and joy. Always God-fearing, sincerely loving, respectful, always grateful, and (brutally) honest that I cannot help but respect her in return.
"Kakie, my best friend, may now be a full-fledged adult. Nineteen, with a brain that seems like it's 35 - and a heart so big she goes out of her way to help at orphanages and does good things even for her Dad and me without having to let anyone know;
"who is so close to her 15-year-old sister Miel because she says she never wants to have a weird or worse, a non-relationship with her little sister;
"who is her little brother Miguel's best friend and fierce protector, will still ALWAYS be MY BABY.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY, my sweet, sweet girl and darling Baba!!! I cannot wait to hold you tight and pepper you with kisses again! And yes, you get to sleep 'in the middle' with Mama and Dad.
"I love you with all my heart. Thank you for being a dream of a daughter to me.
"I am a better woman, mom, and human being because of you. Thank you for being mine.
"See you on your 'other' birthday!!! God bless and guide and keep you safe always. Forever, your loving Mama."
Frankie replied to her mother's letter.
She said in the comment section, "im crying mama ko i love u forever. i cannot wait to hug and kiss u."
Sharon replied, "Hang in there baby! Couple of 'sleeps' na lang!!!"
