Every parent's greatest fear is their child getting hurt.
It happened to Judy Ann Santos when her four-year-old daughter Luna got in an accident at home, while the actress was away filming for her prime-time teleserye Starla.
Judy Ann recalled, "We were in a studio in Makati... yung kasama namin sa bahay called me and said nga, 'May nangyari nga kay Luna.'
"So naririnig ko si Luna umiiyak. I had to rush to the clinic kung saan yung pedia nila kasi dun gusto pumunta ni Luna."
Judy Ann rushed to Asian Hospital in Muntinlupa City to attend to her daughter's needs.
She said, "Umalis na lang agad ako... and then, bumalik ako, and I had to rush my scenes. Everyone was very... Lahat din nag-alala for Luna, for me.
"Na-stress ako nang bongga na hindi ko napansin kung ilang minuto ba ako nakarating sa Asian Hospital.
"I had to go back [to the hospital after filming the scenes] because yung gabing yun din tinahi."
Talking to the press, including PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), during the thanksgiving party of Starla on Monday, January 6, Judy Ann did not go into the details of the accident, but said it made her think.
The 41-year-old celebrity mom said, "Hindi siya wake-up call, pero if you could only turn back time and how you wish that you were there, maybe it could have been prevented.
"Pero ang aksidente, aksidente. Hindi mo naman siya masasabi, wala ka naman puwedeng sisihin.
"Nagpapasalamat na lang kami that Luna was brave enough to really obey kung anong sinabi ng doktor sa kanya, hindi siya makulit.
"Para na ngang matanda itong batang ito. Hindi siya [three years old], parang 32 na siya, yung ganun.
"Kaya niyang i-digest kung anong nangyari sa kanya, kung ano yung sinabi sa kanya."
Judy Ann is also grateful for having a strong support system during the stressful incident.
The Starla actress told the media, "I'm just very lucky that I am with family, my Starla family at that time who would comfort me."
She further recounted, "Kasama ko sina Tatay [Joel Torre] nun, Joem [Bascon], si Ma'am Charo [Santos] pa yung kaeksena ko."
Luna has fully recovered from the accident.
She is celebrating her fourth birthday today, January 4.
Judy Ann and her husband Ryan Agoncillo have two other children: Yohan, 15, and Lucho, 9.
