With the entire country quaking in the grip of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19), there is one blessing that the former actress Angela Luz is looking forward to—the birth of her granddaughter.

Her daughter Paulina Sotto announced her pregnancy just before the government placed the entire Luzon under enhanced quarantine.

Angela wrote in her latest Instagram post, "I waited three years for this... and when it finally happened, we found ourselves in the middle of a global crisis."

She then recounted how she and Paulina put together a gender reveal party.

They scheduled it on March 14, not knowing that the Metro Manila-wide quarantine would take effect the following day.

Angela continued, "We scheduled this party many weeks ago, and I remember talking to my daughter and trying to figure out the date.

"She had taken a blood test to determine the gender of her baby, way back when things were fairly normal.

"I remember sitting in the room with her as blood was taken from her arm. Then we discussed the date for the Gender Reveal.

"It is so weird and eerie to think about it now, because we chose the 14th of March because of MY busy schedule.

"I was supposed to compete in Bali on the 10th of March, then fly back to Manila on the 11th, then fly to Italy on the 17th to dance in a show in Florence. Imagine that... I was supposed to FLY TO ITALY!!! (I even had my ticket already)."

Europe has been declared the epicenter of Covid-19 by the World Health Organization, with Italy as the worst-hit country.

As Angela related, "So we settled on a date... 14th of March... not knowing that in just a few short weeks, our world would turn completely upside down."

Even though it was a surreal time to hold a celebration, Paulina and husband Jed Llanes pushed through with the gender and name reveal of their baby.

Angela narrated, "News of the lockdown came shortly before the event. We pushed through because the guest list had whittled down to only a few people, since a lot of them had to stay away because they had been 'exposed' and couldn't risk being near my daughter. (Vico Sotto being one of them)

"To make a long story short... we had one last happy day with the family and found out that our baby is A GIRL [three heart emoji]"

Paulina and Jed will name her Sachi.

This blessing, according to Angela, has helped her "remain hopeful and optimistic and completely trusting in God..."

The soon-to-be lola said her prayer is for her granddaughter Sachi to be delivered "into a world that is normal and safe and happy, and without threat of a dreaded virus. [three praying person emoji]"

Angela ended her post with short but sweet messages to Paulina and Sachi: "My dearest SACHI... I love you more than you can possibly imagine. [heart emoji] And to my @paulinavls... I will be with you every step of the way.

"There's not a thing I would not do for you and Sachi. I love you both SO MUCH! May God protect you and keep you safe always."

Paulina is Angela's daughter with Vic Sotto.

Oyo Sotto, Danica Sotto-Pingris, Vico Sotto, and Tali Sotto are Paulina's half-siblings.

She and Jed got married in January 2017.
