What it is like to live in the house of Judy Ann Santos and Suzi Entrata during quarantine?

In the first Project: Alalay Kay Nanay Facebook livestream held on Saturday, April 18, Judy Ann and Suzi both related how the COVID-19 situation has been gradually changing their family life at home.

In Judy Ann's case, her initial concern was keeping her kids Yohan, 15, Lucho, 9, and Luna, 4, busy and enjoy their moments at home.

She said, "Ever since the lockdown, siyempre nung first week nandoon iyong ano, e… Okay pa, di ba? Iyong first week.

"Hindi mo pa masyado nararamdaman, e, iyong seriousness.

"'Tapos, parang, part of it iniisip mo rin how to go about the daily activities of the kids.

"And the kids kasi, of course, they enjoy na magkakasama kami."

On the second week, Judy Ann's kids began to ask: How long will this last?

"Pati sila… nagwo-worry sila, especially the two big ones. Lucho and Yohan. They miss their daily routine, kasi every day, they have training, so it's a big change for them.

"They see that we help the frontliners.

"We make face shields, we cook for the frontliners, and they like it. Tumutulong sila.

For Suzi's family, her daughters Leona, 16, Jade, 15, and Nella, 14, still had some sense of normalcy at the start of the quarantine because of online classes.

The Unang Hirit host said, "It's kind of strange, pero may interaction pa sila with their teachers and then their classmates.

"Pero siyempre iyong physical touch, nami-miss nila mag-chikahan with their friends. Iyon iyong nami-miss nila. Hindi sila nagkikita-kita."

As quarantine life has become the new norm, Suzi and her husband Paolo Abrera have been convincing their daughters to stay active.

In jest, Suzi said, "Ang challenge namin dito ay ipag-work out namin sila."

Kasi, di ba sabi nila, mga anak, they take after their parents? They're influenced by them.

Good thing, Suzi and her daughters have been trying to add fruits to their diet.

As in!

"Wala tayo magagawa.

Lagot tayong lahat!

"So, the only way to fight it is to stay healthy."

HELPING THE KIDS COPE

Another important thing for the two moms is knowing what's inside the mind of their kids.

At the home of the Agoncillos, the coversations happen during meal time.

The actress said, "Kami, dito sa bahay, very open naman kasi kami sa mga bata, lalo na with Yohan.

"And every meal time, we would always ask, 'How are you guys?'

"I think that's very important to ask and communicate."

Likewise, Suzi and Paolo have also kept the communication lines open among their daughters.

"Si Paolo mismo at ako, grabe din iyong naging pangamba for the longest time. I don't know if you experienced this also.

"Lalo na the first couple of weeks.

Do you want to discuss something?

Suzi and her family also calm themselves through prayer.

The mother of three said, "Never ko nakakalimutan magpaalala na magdasal.

"Sabi ko, 'Anak, wala tayo magagawa. Nasa bahay lang tayo.

"'It's either we help others by doing work for others or donating, and at the same time, praying and keeping ourselves healthy.

LOOKING AT THE BRIGHT SIDE OF THE SITUATION

As a mom, Judy Ann makes sure her kids are not burdened with worry as the end of the pandemic remains unclear.

We're just tiring ourselves…

The ABS-CBN actress and GMA-7 host were among the celebrity moms who took part in the first Project: Alalay Kay Nanay, a fundraising project organized by celebrity moms Chynna Ortaleza, Camille Prats, LJ Reyes, Iya Villania, Chariz Solomon, and Isabel Oli.
