In February 2020, before the world stopped because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Dimples Romana and her family were able to travel to Finland.
It was a special trip for many reasons—one of which was because her eldest daughter Callie is leaving for college next year, and will be studying to become a pilot in Australia.
In one of Dimples' posts, she exclaimed, "Ang hirap maging magulang!!!
"You raise your kids, teach them, mold them, in the hopes that one day, they'll be kind, responsible and god fearing citizens when they're older."
PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) had a quick chat with the ABS-CBN actress via Instagram direct messaging on April 15.
In our exchange, the celebrity mom mused on how teaching your child to become independent begins by allowing her to express herself.
"Ever since she was little, we would allow her to express herself freely, but always with courtesy and sensitivity to others," Dimples wrote.
"We encourage speaking up at home and always allowed her to have the freedom to choose.
"I feel it's empowering for young girls to have a voice of truth and compassion.
"And when their heart is in a good place, usually their mind is set in a good place, too."
Dimples was thrilled when she learned about Callie's plan for college.
"I was happy and proud to have raised a child who is independent and dreams big," the mother of two continued on Instagram.
"It was always my prayer na sana she'll have the courage to reach for her dreams and create her own path. One that makes her happiest."
The anxiety about the impending changes have started to attack her.
She remarked, "Sa totoo, I feel like I'm the one more anxious about her leaving.
"But I put value on her dream for herself kaya kailangan kong patatagin ang loob ko."
Now, with the quarantine still in full effect, Dimples is taking advantage of their time together at home.
"Now, we cook and bake more.
"We get to talk about plans for the future. And pray more...
"These are trying times. And now more than ever we realize what truly matter in life- FAMILY and nurturing each other.
"These days have definitely made us bond as a family even more."
Dimples and husband Boyet Ahmee also have a son named Alonzo.
